God I had a real trip down memory lane there. Good roping and sheeting was an art, I will never do it again. If you saw a wagon coming down the road with a flapping sheet it was a badge of dishonour. Everything easy now which is a good thing. Anyone remember if you used wet ropes they would all be loose when they dried out down the road ? Happy days. Thanks for loading the video.

Great video once again with some classic oldies but others not so old , had a short spell at tolemans with those 12 car transporters , was like a multi car pile up on a trailer, and the other 10 car transporters with what we called the cake stand on the rear trailer, ran out of the nissan car plant, I finally hung up my gloves and became the nissan shunter working for nissan shunting trailers around the plant, great job , silly money but that in its self went pear shaped after 28 years, bloody hell did I say 28yrs , phew! 😌👍

Thanks for the memories, You have a photo of an FL10 with a bulker trailer on the back. The story goes like this, I think I had an F10, A Reg, one of the very last flat roofs, Morning heading up to Sharpness Steelworks, Late as normal, Cab phone goes, where are you, The pilot of the FL, Dennis who sadly has past on some years ago had trouble tipping his load of Frag Steel, When I got to the steelworks, there's poor old Dennis dripping in Hi-Drolic oil, The cab interior dripping in oil, I think he had the trailer up 2 rams, Something with a bit of weight, the connecter on the Hydraulic broke, smashed through the cab back window, Tipper body drops pushing all that oil in the cab and over Dennis.Great photos, thanks.

Nice trip down memory lane. On a personal note, why do we have to have depressing country music playing?

Back in the days when England was England, we manufactured and exported goods, and it all needed moving. Seems to be all service industry and supermarket trucks on the road now, no british wagons at all, sad.
