I am from Pennsylvania and the Mountains across Pennsylvania are no joke in the rain, snow, flog and ice. I always take my good time mostly in Central Pennsylvania like State College, Johnstown and Erie areas. I drove thru other States with Mountains are same rule take your time and stay off the brakes. Driving around Northern Michigan is fun in the winter when the snow falling and your on the road alone... I love the Mountains

Great video as always. I feel silly telling you this, but I just replied to a comment on one of your other videos. I could not believe my eyes. Was reading the comments below the video, another great video of yours, when I read the most nasty, ridiculous comment someone made. I told him what I thought of his comment. Anyway, I'm sure you don't get many comments to your videos like that. Ignore idiot comments. I love your videos . Use to drive OTR myself. God BlessYou ! Stay safe out there Bro.

Short video, but is a small taste of what truckers go through in America. It's a scary and heart pounding situation. I ran through i-70 in Colorado any real trucker knows how brutal that routes. Your heart will race when or if your truck gets loose especially at night. It takes brass balls to be a trucker

@godblessasiangirls I know how you feel. I had the same problem back in the day. I finally found a job as a swamper with a company that ran winch and hi-up trucks. Thats when the learning and experiance came. I got the driving experiance when the drivers thought it was a good time to let me drive. I learned tonnes from watching them. I always thought about them when I bought my truck and drove for many years after. The learning never stops.

Winters can be nasty. In this case, slow and steady does win the race. ;) Stay safe out there.

Normal winter day up here in Alaska. At least we don't have to deal with the traffic volume that you guys in the lower 48 have which I imagine makes it that much harder.

Years ago I would hear how's the hill Then I would hear there version of the weather 3 or 4 hundred miles ago. One time I was going to Canada up through British Columbia then Alberta. I heard a voice going south don't you want know the hill is then the north bounder said why? I have to go over it any way. That summed it all up on Trucking in the past.

When I start driving a Semi truck and the weather is bad like this I'm either going to pull over to the shoulder or just do 40-50 on the highway driving these big trucks require more cation and attention around cars on the road

Aint no load of freight worth goin in the rhubarb for, or wreckin for, no matter what it is. Slow and steady works well, but so does parkin it and waiting. We all are different, and have different tolerance levels for sure, but one thing in common. There is a limit as to when it's time to stop and wait it out.

I know the video doesn't show that but well there was a half inch when I went though. It was tuff. Makes you wonder what the Truckers back 40 or 50 years ago did?

We may not drive in such conditions cause we drive ADR/HAZMAT UN1203. The Netherlands has a law we may not drive when there is snow on the road. IF you do you risk a fine of over 1200 euro´s ..... Last year we stood still for nearly 3 days .... and I hated it .. rather be on the road working. But the high fine keeps you from going off the yard. never had any problems when I drove none-hazmat just keep you brain working and know what you are doing.

Damn good video, nothing like a big Pete to get you through that mess. Dive me a freight shaker, classic. Strong as bull and got me through those I-80, I-90 storms. Like the music, gets me psych up when rolling, got to love you bitch good when your driving her, or she'll kill you in those mountain passes. Keep on trucking.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU'RE DRIVING TOO FAST FOR THE ROAD CONDITIONS? SHOULD YOU PERFORM A "HARD BRAKE TEST" TO CHECK HOW SLIPPERY IT IS AT A LOW SPEED BEFORE YOU DECIDE HOW FAST TO TRAVEL? ANY TECHNIQUES? DON'T HAVE MUCH HIWAY EXPERIENCE

@jeffsmith68256 жыл бұрын
drive as slow or fast as you need to while being safe. If you are loaded you can move along faster, if empty and pulling train with 13 axles as I do; well then be smart and play it safe. You will get the feel of it just don't push it and end up a 0 instead of a hero. Pushing to hard will not end well. After you get experience you will be the guy passing the others knowing you are doing so safe! Happy trucking.

@Folkboat11 The only things I know are things I have already learned. But I don't know everything and I probably will never learn everything. I can only learn as much as I can until the day I die. I'm still keeping my head up and I'm sure someone will give me a shot, it's just a matter of when. All I want is to live out on the road and make money as an owner operator someday. Since I'm single, never married, and no kids.

If you are NOT sure how fast to drive in poor to hazardous road conditions, then you shouldn't be driving by yourself in the first place. Secondly, only drive as fast as you are comfortable with driving. NEVER perform a "hard Brake Test" anywhere on unsafe road conditions, that's the fastest way to make you rig jacknife. If you are not comfortable driving in thw winter time when the roads can and usually are in bad condition, then DON'T drive O.T.R during the winter and stay at home.
