We put a tarp in the nose of the walking floor to help sweep out the load otherwise there would be several inches of material on the floor to shovel out.

We had this happen 30 years ago in a quarry in PA. This guy was fresh out of the military and new nothing about loading etiquette. Loader put 23 ton of 3/4 stone on top of him. Fortunately other drivers figured out that he was in the load and we’re able to dump him out the back. Basically unscathed but a little shuck up.

Many years ago, I was delivering sheetrock and forgot I had a bundle near the front that was shorter than the rest of the load. As I walked over the tarp I stepped into the void between the bundles and took a header off the truck. The Lord was with me and I rotated onto my butt instead of my head. I could have easily broken my neck or back. The consignee yelled out an eight, as it was the summer Olympics. I did have to take off a day or two after picking up a load of lumber (and tarping it). Another driver delivered it from the headquarters of the trucking company to Los Angeles. You rock, Lady.

I pull a live floor trailer, we either do not open our tarp until ready to be loaded. Or we set the clean out tarp in the nose of trailer, before we pull up to loading dock
@Greg_Gatsby6 ай бұрын
I’m guessing most people here don’t know what you’re talking about with a clean out tarp in a walking floor trailer. OneLonelyFarmer (KZbin) uses one on his New Jersey farm and has to set his clean out tarp to help empty his walking floor trailer of grain, fertilizer, lime, or large hay bales he routinely needs to haul. The clean out tarp helps to get the product out of the nose of the trailer without needing to sweep or shovel it out. Live floor trailers are the same as walking floor trailers. They’re designed to unload the product without being a dump trailer.

I drive a dump truck for a small family owned gravel pit in Stevens County. Often I have to load myself out, especially if I'm getting material from one of the other yards we operate out of. The guy who usually loads me out at our pit doesn't pour rock unless he has eyes on the driver. Absolutely, safety first. I used to live on the wet side and drove for Reddaway in Tacoma and the whole Olympic Peninsula. I'm so happy to be on this side of the state in the boonies.

Oh, I can imagine the nightmares you were having Niqi 😂 I get the same vivid dreams of sh*t happening. It's just part of our intuitive trait we see/sense sh*t where people say how do you know that was going to happen. Were observers we notice stuff. You have to be aware of your surroundings. I worked in a small tight transfer station for 7 years. I was the equipment operator and bin truck driver. I had to be alert all the time. There were people dropping off their garbage or other stuff like scrap wood. You know the next time you visit that place, you'll be recalling that incident. There are sites/places I've hauled, too, that is bad juju. Usually , it's really stressful getting in and out of the site. When I have to revisit the site weeks or months later, my stomach starts churning. There are some real sh*t hole places we have to go into.

Dauminique, Randy aka Gramps here, I'm still new here, but I've watched a few of your videos so far, and I love your content, but if you don't mind me saying so, I've noticed that you're having a lot of difficulty with your cb mic 🎤 cord, with it getting in the way, basically because it's too long! Well a trick I learned years ago was that there should be a small screw up above you about middle ways of your headerboard! Well if you were to get you a small 10" or 12" in. bungie cord, loosen that screw, fit one end of that bungie cord around the srew, then tighten it back down, and then hook the other end around the clip button on the back of your cb mic 🎤, and let it hang down from the bungie cord, it will keep your cb cord up & out of the way, and keep the mic 🎤 always within easy reach! Anyhoo, I just thought I'd mention it! Anyway, this is Saturday, July 6, I hope you're having a good day, and a terrific weekend! So take care, and do stay safe!...🚛💖😁👍

You’re not allowed out of your truck and definitely not on top of your truck on company property. 40 years doing this and it’s crazy what people do. FYI, I do Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia. Google Maps is my go to. Garmin has fallen short and Waze is questionable.

The suffixes and prefixes of streets/aves can be confusing. East of Lake Washington almost everything is NE or SE. A NW designator would be in north seattle or maybe SHoreline. To further confuse, there is an area in Kirkland where NE 116th Street crosses 116th Ave NE.

I used to work for the Canaveral. I ran the spider. One day I was set up right beside the main gate for the rodeo grounds and people lined up on the left side of my ride right alone my fence. The towny (local hire for that spot) started the ride I was watching checking things as you do when your inside the fence. Just as the oscillator was started (the part that make the ride seam to walk) a kid about 3 years old walked right through my fence as it wasn’t even there at all. I jumped to the control box and hit the master kill button at the same time my partner pushed both levers forward to engage both brakes. The sweep missed that kid by only inches. I was noticeably shacking after that. I didn’t cry until that night in my tent. There is not one person that has experienced something like that or what you did that would not understand how it affects a person. It doesn’t mater your gender ether. It hits everyone.
