Ive had one for about a year and I noticed the same down side. It can be slow regarding road closures. Apart from that its a very good sat nav.

+Matt H Cheers Matt, I'd never recommend anything I don't use myself or believe in and I wouldn't be without my Garmin. I consider the truckers atlas the most important for an overview, everything else is just an aid 👍

I use a Zumo 595 on the bike - that has free updates, too. Expensive, because of waterproofing and vibration resistance.. The Honda built-in system on the GoldWing is only update-able via the purchase of a memory card, for over £200! Even the Harley was £110 to update, but once every few years seems okay (sort of). Both bikes' systems are based on the Garmin, but not *exactly* the same. And they never agree how long a journey will be, or whether to turn right, or left, at T junctions.

Yeah happens to me too now and again, think it's just a little slow to update sometimes, I just treat it as a nice surprise if it's already cleared 😂

Not overly important Kev but there might be a situation where it routes you and takes your vehicle length into consideration so worth noting, you have yours set to 40' length when in fact you are 54' long (16.5mtrs) I'd also set your width to 8'6" (2.6mtrs) for the same reason. Regarding the speed being changed by you from 60mph to 56mph remember that that is the EU regulated speed limit NOT the UK speed limit on Motorways and dual carriageways, lowering the speed in your settings may or may not cause you routing issues. Nice review mate but I'm still leaning towards the TomTom 6250 with its far superior traffic info.

Reef UK hey Reef, cheers for highlighting the incorrect dimentions, not sure why they çhanged but all is returned now. Regarding speed, the limit is 60 as far as I'm concerned but 56 on the Garmin gives me more accurate ETA's and I've never noticed any routing issues. Thanks mate 👍

@@marloyoung4716 AFAIK You need to install garmin express on computer, then using micro usb, connect to comp and follow instructions. usually around every 3 months theres a map update that takes around an hour. I wouldnt be without mine.

+Spank Yanks cheers bud, over 2 years and never had a problem with Bluetooth. I did read one comment with Bluetooth issued and I think it coincided with a phone software update, maybe try uninstalling and re-installing the app.

Oy Oy Kev, I just returned a Dezl 785. I would swear it's a knock off if it didn't come from Amazon. The worst nav I have ever had the misfortune to suffer in a cab. Granted its pretty, but that's where it ends. As the saying goes, " if it's too good to be true it usually is". First trip out with the 785 from Rugby truck stop. So, onto the A5 towards J18 M1. Straight away a fail. Speed limit on the A5 is 50Mph. Garmin says 20Mph lol. Onto the dual carriageway. Oh dear, 40Mph. OK, so see what sipped I should adhere to on the motorway. Yep, funnily it's also 40Mph. At least its the same as the dual carriageway. OK, so I'm off to Nottingham. Off at J24 along a A453 all the way to the end. Sadly Garmin had other ideas, twice along that stretch it told me to take next exit, go round the island and rejoin the A453??? Obviously I did no such thing. Next port of call, Leeds. Instead of directing me towards the M1 North it route me or tried to, back the way I came to J24. Again I ignored the thing and proceeded on my way. Once it rejigged itself it knew where to go. Lol Next fail was in Leeds. I know, from Britvic Leeds to Rugby truckstop is around 2:30, but Garmin said 3:20. Oh and the dash cam wouldn't work because it couldn't see the sd card that was in it from the factory. Total rubbish. Got home pack it back up and sent it back for a refund. Another Snooper will replace it once the refund comes in. Regards Alec

However, almost every road i travel on except for our main expressway it says unknown road for truck travel...kind of defeats the purpose of using it. I have used this gps for the past 1 year and all i can say is to stay away from garmin in europe. I bought a faulty unit with a dead batery from new and garmin has beaten around the bush in order for the guarantee to expire. they have only one location for service in all europe and you have to pay for shipping in order to get the device evaluated. I love the maps and the traffic service but its not enough in our days when you can have acces to 10-15 different hgv devices that are far cheeper and almost as good

Hi Gary, I don't think there's a lot in it to be honest, only real advantage with the snooper is it has built in tv if that's something that interests you but you do get free lifetime map updates and traffic with the Garmin so swings and roundabouts 👍

Hi Kev, I believe that Dezl 770 LMT-D comes preloaded with EU maps traffic and POI, But i can't seem to find a way to add the poi i need to view by ticking or unticking the poi i need on the Map, it only give you up ahead of 3 poi to choose from to display, and what i been searching for is WIFI HOTSPOT but i can't seem to find it anywhere, any idea please how this works or where it is? . according to Garmin web page info they say its included with Poi. kind regards Noel

Yes it would be very good for coaches or any large vehicle, just input the dimensions and it works the same, just select the rigid option rather than artic 👍

I recently bought the 770 LMT- D but speed cameras are by yearly subscription, "A Garmin hidden fee", i thought it was included with the lifetime map updates. TomTom 6250 pro all free lifetime updates inc speed cameras. I always used TomTom i think i get it as my spare. thanks for the vid.

Hi Mate! i have not used my 770 lmtd in truck yet, i only updated the software but i noticed that when i set brightness bit under half the light flickers a little bit, I only tried it on battery or usb on Gaming Laptop on a Special charging port.is this normal? over half the bar setting its perfect. regards Noel

Hey Noel, that does sound a bit strange and not something I've experienced as I never need the brightness over 30%, maybe try it in the car and see if that solves the issue.

I am a new class 2 driver and has been out with a friend on multi drops deliveries arounds leeds city centre. most of the deliveries are within leeds area . my friend is using truck nav which on occasions has put us on the roads where we shouldn't have been. it resulted in blocking the road as the truck got stuck in the middle. My friend is a new driver too. I was just wondering what is the difference between your garmin sat nav and my m8s truck nav. we are both newbies lol and trying to understand these difference. At the moment I have no sat nav and I need to buy one. my friend has paid £150 for his and your set has the value of over £360 . would your set garmin put me on the roads which are big enough for trucks? I do understand that it is multi drop deliveries that we doing at the moment around leeds city centre therefore we may not be able to avoid these routes. +Mumtaz Zafar hi, I don't get to do much city driving but the small amount I have done the Garmin has never got me stuck or put me on a road I shouldn't be on. The difference between the Garmin and a cheap sat nav will mainly be all in the software, like using a cheap laptop vs a top of the range laptop. Garmin also develop there own mapping and invest millions to make sure the information is correct where as most cheap sat navs all use the same generic mapping that rarely gets updated and is very buggy. That's just the main points, there are many other details but the best advice would be to try one, maybe borrow one from someone. I'm planning on doing a video with a side by side comparison with a cheaper unit in the near future so keep an eye out 👍

Hi, unfortunately, I don't have access to a Tomtom at the moment, in all honesty there very much the same and both have their positives and negatives, you wouldn't go wrong with either. For some idea of data usage, my Garmin uses 100mb of data a month from my phone allowance.

I do have 770 and I have to tell you is really a garbage GPS. Is deliberately directing me towards traffic and directing me to longer trips. It makes so many mistakes that I can believe is actually Garmin. One more thing it doesn't recognize traffic. It shows that there is no traffic on your route you have chosen, but soon you get closer to the area all of a sudden it changing to red and you have no choice because is already to late to change the route. My opinion is totally garbage not worth it 1 buck.
