Good Morning Chris, thank you for a very informative video. It has certainly answered a few questions I had regarding how Distribution centres work. Have a great week, drive safe...🚛

All supermarket RDCs are slightly different One Asda one I’ve been to uses a wheel chock, comes out of floor and locks you to the bay Sainsbury’s - put your keys on a hook and they pull them up a pipe Morrison’s - hand them in at desk Tesco - use a locker and get a tiny, easily losable metal fob in return. The entry system is good as long as you are computer literate

Hi Chris Very interesting I’m an ex trucker now retired. You read/hear horror stories of delays and jobsworth at the major RDC around the country this delivery seemed fairly “normal “. How long did they take to tip you and have you’re ever experienced such delays? Is there ever an RDC you dread going to? Crispie
@blobby2736 жыл бұрын
fridge deliveries are less time consuming than ambient .
@truckingchris17166 жыл бұрын
RIchard Crisp hi mate I think that one took an hour from entering the site to leaving the site so was actually very quick for a full trailer. I have had 6hrs before for a full trailer at other sites. And yea there is one or two I think oh great here we go as soon as I see I am going there but I’d rather not name them publicly if that makes sense

Hi Chris. Do you then use your yellow gatepass copy as a P.O.D being as they kept all your delivery notes? Am loving your vlogs by the way👍👍

Can you wait in wagon when getting tipped? When you're in RDC's waiting on getting tipped can you have a kip in wagon?
@MrRobertotim5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the the video, you're a good video maker too, in one of your videos I saw you arrived at a delivery point at 05:30 but made to wait till 20:00 questions is are you paid during the waiting time as it is not your fault or your company pays you for the driving time

At 7:56 where do hand those keys in? the chilled goods office where you took your 2 bits of paper?
@truckingchris17166 жыл бұрын
gary63693 normally yes you would but at this one there is a second office as the bay is on the opposite side of the building
@stevecampbell75896 жыл бұрын
it doesnt seem too bad at that place. i dropped at one place, i think it was Lidl. I got the gate pass, gone round to goods in, got on the bay, put my keys into the box below the bay light which turned the light to red and locked the keys in place. trailer wheels got chocked and a big red steering wheel cover placed over the steering wheel and you have to wear a hivis and hard hat. not allowed to sit in your cab, you must sit in the drivers canteen. no toilets for the driver neither. i am sure it was lidl
