The man who owns that place is the most amazing man. He helped me out one time after I had hit a cone ant did a bit of damage to my truck. He had been out in the parking area cleaning up trash and garbage behind the nasty drivers. I truly did appreciate his assistance. When i get the opportunity I will stop again.
@wadericker479511 ай бұрын
And 1 more trucking story..about backing into your parking spot. I got backed into one time down in Georgia or Alabama I can't remember which. I had a 48 foot aluminum flatbed hooked up on me. This guy in a van trailer hit my trailer about halfway back and he was at such a slight angle, he actually slid my empty trailer sideways about 2 foot. I was asleep when it happened. I bailed out of bed and honked them train horns got dressed and jumped out. He was profusely apologizing for hitting my truck. He finally said that he couldn't see anything in his mirrors. I looked at him and said Dude if you can't see anything you stop get out and look!!! He didn't do much damage it just kinda skinned my rub rails. I told him not to worry about it. The next time I got home I took my angle grinder and smoothed it all back up. Almost looked good as new. If I would have been loaded there might have been more damage.

I was laughing so hard at the roundabouts. I can hear my friend Ellis from heaven right now laying the griping on thick. I miss that guy. I love the small towns. I spotted a few Christmas bell from the 1950's. I miss the days when every window would be decked out and the lights came on in grand style the day AFTER Thanksgiving. Thanks for another awesome ride. Safe travels, and God bless.

At that very truck stop where you bought the coconut cream pie. Years and years ago I was driving a T800 Kenworth with a B model cat . It was really cold out that night and about 7:00 in the morning that CAT jelled up and died on me. It was 3 or 4 that afternoon before they had it running again. I had filled them 150 gallon tanks with Oklahoma fuel and I did put a jug of Howes in each tank. And it still jelled up on me. To this day I will not buy Howes.

Backing a trailer was easy for me when I was driving big rigs in the 1970s era. I've always thought, if a driver trusted what's in the mirrors, he be good. There is never any uncertainty when we get out and check for what's not visible, no shame either. Thanks for a very pleasent, peaceful even, ride. Stay well.

You can still go through Fremont, just go one exit past the bypass in that first roundabout. I go through there every week. They built the bypass from us275 to the roundabout by the Platte River first. All they had to do was build the connection to the roundabout from 77. It only took a couple months.

I wondered if you ever ran 77 into Dakota City when you pulled those Dodge City loads rather than through Omaha and up I-29. You are right about beware of deer on 75. I think the worst section is between Blair and Omaha. Dead deer and broken car parts litter that section of road.
