My nephew and I just did a 3700 mile road trip in a 2024 Grand Cherokee limited rental. Las Vegas to New Orleans and back. It had 321 miles on it when we started and 4104 when we returned it. Never had a single issue and averaged 23.4 mpg. Not great, but acceptable to us. Definitely had the power to run the interstates and pass at 80 mph+. Seemed rock solid during the trip. Never owned a jeep, but this one seemed to be well made and reliable.

We have a 2023 Wagoneer Carbide edition and it actually does extremely well for gas MPGs but you have to do it by actual calculations. If you off the screen that calculation is always off by 2-3mpg at least on our Wagoneer. We just did a trip to Gatlinburg during Mardi Gras week and averaged 24-26mpg @ 78-72 mph I know these aren’t the same engines but we have no complaints whatsoever about our SO Hurricane 3.0L. The electronics is a different story we are being told that a system update/upgrade is coming out soon and it’s supposed to be fixing all the bugs with the Uconnect system. Other than a couple little Uconnect issues we absolutely love the Wagoneer from top to bottom.

Bought a 2023 in March of 2023, check engine light came on in May, 2 dealers and 4 visits later, they bought it back in November of 2023 and gave the majority of my money back. All because they could never solve a check engine light that wouldn’t shut off. Tech was nice but not smooth, screens would freeze or be delayed. Such a shame. On top of that, you’re still buying a jeep. In my opinion going to the dealer that services basic wranglers to that luxurious behemoth, the dealership service part was lacking severely compared to buying a similarly priced vehicle. I would stay far away from these vehicles. They’re nice and luxurious, but reliablity is a different story. Solid review.

I have a question on that, and I know, being a fleet vehicle, you don't want to admit to speeding, but where I live, the posted speed limit is 70 and we all have to do 80 to be safe, some of my surrounding states have 75, and you have to do... you get the point. My Toyota's and Lexus' get about 18MPG at those speeds, I'm wondering 'real world' highway driving MPG. Also, we all do it. the 91 Octane thing. My Lexus says it needs it, I took the 1st 5 tanks to experiment - ran 91, then 87, and then settled on 89... Did you slip and put the cheap stuff in on a tank ? and tell us what it did? we all do it, would love to know the results.

personally? If you need these extra length ones - I would do the GMC Yukon XL with the 6.2L. If you can live with a slightly shorter one, I'd do the Sequoia, then the Yukon with the 6.2L. Doesn't look like Jeep made the liftgate glass able to open as all Fiat/Chrysler vehicles that should, don't as opposed to a few manufacturers albeit sadly declining for cost savings and looks rather then utility. The straight 6 is a better choice then a V6. Unfortunately Fiat/Chrysler need to work out their bugs and quality issues plagued by so many of their vehicles especially the ones that shouldn't be for the price and technology. Sometimes it feels like the customers are the testing patients rather then when the vehicle is in the manufacturers proving grounds. My advice is save your money and stick with what works rather then looks like it does and you can't beat the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade or their standard versions the Expedition and Tahoe/Yukon twins especially the extended versions on all models. The Toyota Sequoia and Lexus GX 550 is the next top choice and the Nissan Armada and Infiniti Qx80 are at the bottom and shouldn't really be considered for the price and old tech. Don't forget the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse that offer similar interior space and better reliability overall. I wouldn't trust any Fiat/Chrysler product until their reliability rankings increase significantly. Looks doesn't always equate function nor durability nor does name plates. At these prices one should always become more educated and think for themselves and question everything ✌🏽❤️

Come back to this in 20 years and let us know how much of the electronic shit no longer works at all. Today's vehicles are built with 100% failure as part of the build quality....all that touch screen shit isn't gonna hold up for the long haul, the automakers are so worried about the environment yet they're building obsolescence and failure right into every single vehicle they build, electrics included. 17mpg, not impressed at all...they should have just left the V8 in them, that big of a vehicle should have the right power plant, a turbo charged smaller engine isn't a fix for a vehicle that needs more displacement...and the V8s could be tuned for a lot more HP, they just detune them for fuel economy EPA nonsense. At 100k+ a sticking cruise control button...yep typical of Chrysler quality control...err...lack of...heck what do they even call themselves anymore? They've changed hands so many times, even Dodge don't put their names on the Ram trucks anymore. I miss my Jeep in the winter, but mine was a ZJ, mechanical 4WD system, and old school Inline 6 without the turbo crap. Odd thing was I never had any transmission issues like so many people claim they had, but then again I maintained my vehicle properly....my last ZJ however, the previous owner skipped out what seemed to be every maintenance checkbox they could, and it showed, the engine and transmission in it had issues and it only had 1/2 the miles my first ZJ had. I think the newest Grand Cherokee I'd care for would maybe be the WK but preferably a WJ.
