Trudeau had more education AND political experience at 25 than Harper has now. Harper didn't even finish school first time around and had to get his father to hire him. Jenni Byrne couldn't get him elected again so now he will find some more coattails to ride somewhere while we repair his mess.

Michael Langford The issue is Michael, nobody can really articulate what mess Justin is inheriting. I doubt you could either. Few people comment on how well Harper did on the economy. If you don't like his style, fine. But be objective. We'll find out in a few years time if it was worth taking a reactionary approach to electing a new leader. People didn't elect Justin into office; they fired Harper. A bit reactionary and short sighted in my opinion. People don't seem to care that countries are imploding around the globe, aka greece and the BRIC countries. All that matters now is we have a new hot guy in office. It's Obama 2008 redux. How loved is Obama now?

+AgeOfAbnegation Harper inherited a surplus, then we had a recession, then a stagnant economy with no real attempt at stimulus and then another recession. That is not a good economic record by any standard. Sure he can CLAIM he stopped it from getting worse, but you can't point to anything he did to help the economy, in fact focusing solely on Alberta made it worse and ignoring Ontario, where most of the population of the country lives definitely hurt rather than helped. Now that we have a government we will see what kind of mess we really have and work to heal both economy and spirits. Canadians are strong hardworking people and we will prosper. We are already happier as a nation and that can only help.
