Its worse here, our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyperinflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.

Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire.

I hope that I can invest much more in the future with the money that I earn on my own. Instead of investing money in stocks, invest in yourself, your learning and your experiences. If you invest well enough in yourself you will have enough capital to invest. Generating 50% of return with just 5000 is not worth much but same return on investing 50000 is worth something. Investing in yourself can make the difference of being able to save 5000 and 50000 that you can put in stock market.

@10:15 Demat charges per stock (irrespective of quantity/shares sold on one day) when you sell is Rs.13.5 + GST. However, @12:00 Sir erroneously says this charge is per stock sold, and will increase with no. of shares. It is flat Rs.13.5 + GST per scrip in actual.

@@hardikshah580 When you sell a delivery stock you have to pay the charges to the depository i.e CDSL OR NSDL This amount is charged per scrip (i.e company) not on the number of stocks For example, let's say, you sell 1 ITC share and 1 BPCL share, then you'll have to pay 13.5 + 13.5 = 27 But, if you sell 2 ITC shares, you'll have to pay only 13.5 That means, more the number of companies, more you pay. In my case angel broking charges me some amount in addition to CDSL which costs me something around ₹23.5, don't know about zerodha or upstox, I said 13.5 bcz Ankur said so in his video

So wanted to give a bit of clarity because the terminology and example in the video point to dp charges per stock but it is per scrip.... so if you sell 10 stocks of a company you will be charged a fixed fees of 15.. and same happens even if you sell 100 stocks of the company...Below are the charges for 1000 shares sold Buy 1000 Sell 1100 No of shares 1000 Total gross profit 100000 Total charges 2353.52 Net P&L 97646.48 Charges breakdown Brokerage 0.00 STT 2100.00 Exchange txn charge 72.45 Clearing charge 0.00 Stamp duty 150.00 SEBI charges 2.10 DP 15.93 GST 13.04 As you can see the dp charges are 15.93 per scrip...and not per stock if it was per stock the charges would be 15000/-

I don't think smallcase product is suitable for beginners. It always shows that portfolio which is currently in profit and also shows unrealistic return value. The portfolio which becomes old or started showing losses they no longer shows them. The problem is for those users who continue to invest in them. They unnecessarily pay huge charges and suffers losses. There is also no guarantee that 5-10 years down the line, the particular portfolio will still work or not. So my advice is to go for mutual fund or index funds. Smallcase still has to prove its worth. Don't waste your hard earned money. Invest wisely!!!

I think you may want to update this video or may be create a new one with clear examples(that you generally do to help the community as always:) ) with below changes in smallcase charges effective 21st Nov 2022. For every smallcase, a transaction fee of ₹100 (capped at 1.5% of the investment amount) will be applied when you invest a lump sum amount to your new or existing smallcase investment, effective 21st November 2022. For SIPs, a charge of ₹10 (again capped at 1.5% of the amount transacted), effective 21st November 2022. Any auto-SIP set up before this date will not incur this fee.

Since the user is the creator I believe there will no subscription Charges. Please comment Ankur Warikoo. By the way one more great video. I am literally confused of the charges for a smallcase and have been hesitant to invest. Thank you for the clarification.

11:18 slight correction here. DP Charges are levied at Rs. 13.5 (+ 18% GST) per day per scrip (stock) for the stocks sold from your holdings. If you sell 50 shares of X in the morning and 50 shares of X in the afternoon, the total applicable DP charges for that scrip(stock) for the day will be Rs. 13.5 + 18% GST. If you sell 50 shares of X in the morning and 50 shares of Y in the afternoon, the total applicable DP charges for the day will be Rs 13.5 + Rs 13.5 = Rs 27 + 18 % GST since multiple scrips are being sold. So, in the video it is shown that 13.5 * 50. Can anyone help me, if I am correct or wrong?

You should have mentioned charge of Rs13.5 is " per scrip " ( or per company ) and not based on per stock (number wise ) E.g if I sell 5 stocks of wipro = Rs.13.5 will be charged but if I sell even 1 stock of 5 different companies = will be charged 13.5*5 = Rs67.5 for 5 stocks (1 stock per company )

Hey Ankur, usually mutual funds have around 1% expense ratio. If I want to subscribe to a paid smallcase with fees 6k per year, I'll have to put in 50k per month so that the total subscription cost becomes 1% of invested amount. If I want to invest less than 50k per month, should I still go for smallcase?
@Manu-ik8nn
@Manu-ik8nn 2 жыл бұрын
While you are right, Mutual funds are highly diversified and risk averse as such generate lower return comparative to small case investing. In first year your expense ration might be say 3% on let say 20K per month investing. But 3 years down the line, it will come down to below 1%. This is due to the fact that small case subscription fee is not proportional but fixed unlike MFS Hence for long term investing, I am definitely gonna advice smallcase. Once a portfolio crosses 10L, expense ration will be about 0.6% and will decrease with time further
@sarthakgoyal6691
@sarthakgoyal6691 2 жыл бұрын
@@Manu-ik8nn Thank you so much for replying back. I think you put it perfectly when you said that in mutual funds the expense ratio is variable but it is fixed in smallcase. I still feel that the expense ratio won't keep going down in smallcase with time because the subscription is yearly. So in 3 years, my invested amount becomes 3x but so does my subscription cost. So in that case my expense ratio would still remain 3%. Let me know if I'm thinking on the wrong lines here. Thanks!!

PERSONAL OPNION: The biggest drawback of smallcase has to be short term capital gain tax on each rebalance. Especially for retail investersors, who don't have audits or who file tax themselves, will have to also declare the short term trades while filing for tax, and also pay 15% on top. If smallcase can somehow avoid this, then its actually an good investment option. EX : if you have a smallcase of 20 stocks, every quarter rebalance can lead about 20 short term trades( assuming 5 stocks sold in every rebalance.) Then you have to declare them all 20 in your IT. if you invest in more smallcases, managing this becomes even more difficult.
