Excellent. 30 years after falling in love with this song, I now play keyboards in a band ... gotta try this one :)

nice job , interesting how you put the lead on the left hand.

Yeah, the chords were actually more prone for me to mess up, so I put them on my stronger hand.

Thank you, this one's a lot of fun to play! I always loved how fat the synths are on this song.

That's awesome. I'd love to see it filmed from the front for a clearer view of what you're playing ....
@galtem3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, I'd like to find a way to film that's clearer than a tripod by my shoulder -- so far that's all I got tho :-(. I'd like to find a way to rig up something so I can film straight down from above.

@@galtem What's the base for the right hand sound, is it strings? I have a fairly simple Roland but it probably has something similar.
@galtem3 жыл бұрын
@@cloggysaint yes, I'm using layered string sounds on the right hand.
@cloggysaint3 жыл бұрын
@@galtem And the lower 2 octaves at the same level? : S
@galtem3 жыл бұрын
@@cloggysaint Yes, any given note on the right hand has 3 sounds, each one is actually in it's own octave (so when you play one note, you're playing 3 sounds 3 octaves apart; 2 of them strings, one a vox).

Terrific! Did you use Korg Triton presets for each part, or did you program the synth patches used here? If presets, which ones did you use?
@galtem2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! They're all Triton sounds, but not presets - different combinations of strings, pads, and effects, plus the bells for the left hand.

Not a bad call, I might -- I learned it for our singer to do live, it might be a fun vid to do here. It's pretty sparse though -- he does a lot more live then he does on the track. But live it fits perfectly for our singer to do since the parts don't really overlap each other.

You should’ve done the choir counterpoint on the second verse instead of repeating the descending chord progression.
