This was one of the only shows on nick with a main character who was a black girl, who was brown skinned with an important position in a company. That’s why it was so memorable to me and holds a place in my heart. Too bad it didn’t get the ratings it deserved.

Because Schneider bought the airwaves and was the face of nickelodeon for 20 years! All his shows (Icarly / Drake and Josh / Victorious) and all this rubbish from the mid-2000s is, to put it mildly, a copy of all the shows that were broadcast already in 1995-2000 ... @lecoda OK since you clearly didnt grow up when this show came out like I did, the ideal cast for shows like this during this period were white boys with blonde (predominantly) and flippy hair (just look at Justin Bieber, the top artist during this time) usually a laid back surfer bro or a geek/generic bad boy. no in-between, and for the females it was basically Cali Beach barbie, skater/tough tomboyish, country chick, neither which were common in black communities save for the bad boy trope. how would a black and Asian lead work when the trends at the time were the antehisis of those communities? There's actually 2 versions. In one (this one) part of the chorus says "With Lulu and Ryan. They are my two best friends. When things get out of hand we always have a plan."
