Something else you can do to help the all around performance is extend the ventilation plate area. Just cut out a piece of aluminum the same width as the vent plate and extend it 4 to 6''aft. In this way you are in affectively creating a trim tab stabilizer without creating additional drag. Also you can hammer in a small amount of cup to the outer edge of the prop to minimize prop slip.

Hi, researching getting into a 330, wondering if a long leg (20") would be OK, better than the recommended short, get the prop lower in the water, less cav etc, due to thru-flow between hulls? Whilst its cool watchn the puppy, rear camera view was good, could see the wake & spray. Merc sounded like she needed a carb service.
@TRUEKITINFLATABLES Жыл бұрын
Hi there. You are actually better getting the prop/leg higher for less water disturbance. We recommend short shaft, a Permatrim and a cupped prop as the best combination for most lightweight dinghies
@Lana_Warwick Жыл бұрын
@@TRUEKITINFLATABLES Thankyou. Internet being what it is, I found forum posts where people have cut the transom down 5cm, incl pics, thus my concern.
@TRUEKITINFLATABLES Жыл бұрын
@@Lana_Warwick you will find just as many have raised their transom heights. It probably means we have got it about right!

31km/hr which is around 20mph. On my 330 with 9.8 tohatsu I get about 20 ok stock prop. Havent done testing of the cupped solas, that's coming.
@TRUEKITINFLATABLES4 жыл бұрын
That's correct. Top speed was 31kph. There are prop shapes that could probably give you a bit more top end if you were racing it with a lightish load

Oh come on. 6hp the dog was further forward obviously quicker acceleration 😂. Also the most important thing is for the prop to hit maximum RPM the information we actually need. I have the 6hp stock prop 3.3m 37kg sib 5500rpm. So i cut it down sharpened it now 5900 15.1 knots from 14.4 before.
