"Wife #2" was the guy referring to his own second wife, not our hero, Arnold's character just has Jamie Lee Curtis' character as a wife. :) The explosion was the warhead they left in concrete on the island.

R.I.P. Bill Paxton. Possibly the most COMPLETE actor ever. The man could play anything from a hero to "naval lint." Many actors I've worked with also said he was just the nicest guy in the world.

I lived in the lower Florida Keys at the time of filming this, where the truck was teetering on the edge of the blown up bridge, it sat there for days until they were ready to resume shooting it was great

I was at NAS Key West for 2 years in the 60s and recognized the old bridge, and knew they had built a new one. Ten years ago I was back in the Keys and saw how they had built elevated sections of the new bridge to allow boats to use those gaps to now transition between the Gulf and the Atlantic. Did a lot of fishing off the old bridge catwalks back in the day.

IMO, this is the best all-around Arnold film. Suspense, comedy, adventure, it has it all. I also like him in "Total Recall" and "Twins." Jamie Lee Curtis is also good in "Trading Places" and "A Fish Called Wanda."

That slip during the tango at the end was an accident. Jamie Lee Curtis was practicing the tango so much that by the time they shot the scene, her legs gave out. They kept it in the movie because they thought it fit Helen's character so well. Curtis was so mad about it! LOL

Hi Emma, when I saw this title I knew you would enjoy this one!🙂It has a very James Bond feel to it. The scene with the old couple in the elevator with the horse was parodied in the comedy film "Spy Hard" (1996) with the same old couple reprising their roles.😉The fake spy is Bill Paxton. He was one of the punks at the beginning of "The Terminator". He was also in "Aliens" (1986) which you should definitely watch as it is a James Cameron film, same as this one. 14:50 - This hotel is actually called the "Westin Bonaventure" (it's actually not the Marriot). It's in Los Angeles. I stayed there a few years ago. You can ride up in the elevator that Arnold took. They also filmed the movie Interstellar and a few others as well. Thanks for a great reaction to one of my all time favorite films.

This is one of the cases when a remake is so much better than the original. Original being the French movie "La Totale", with Tierry Lermitt in the lead role. The plot is very similar, but the execution is way cooler here.

Always loved this one. ALways hated that this one is hard to find, while Last Action Hero is so common LOL There was quite a fad of tangos in the movies in the early '90s. Al Pacino raised it to a a fever pitch in Scent of a Woman, and was followed by many copycats. Smoking was common and EVERYWHERE still in the early '90s. It was only banned in hospitals in 1993, and had not yet been banned on airplanes or in restaurants. That would take more than another decade! It was banned on short flights in 1988, then longer flights in 1990, and, later, finally, ALL flights.

It kills me younger audiences don't know Harriers were in deed able to take of vertically. So the fighter jet scene looks for them like pure BS. That scene do have technical mistakes, but the plane being able to hoover is not one of them.

True Lies is one of the greatest action comedies ever made. It's in that special category with movies like Beverly Hills Cop or Demolition Man. But True Lies is far superior than most. James Cameron proved to be as great with comedy as everything else.

Great movie. Except for Terminator 1 and Batman and Robin, Arnold Swarchneger always plays the good guy. You should do the Running Man 1987) or Conan The Barbarian (An epic movie with an epic sountrack). he boss in the movie of Arnold Schwarzenegger is the legendary actor Charlton Heston Rip who had some epic classic movie like the Ten Commandments and Ben Hur Battery Aziz :)

Charlton Heston in the cold place that's where his name came up in the credits on you said it's in that cold place he's the head honcho at Omega with the eyepatch. Look up some good old movies to watch like Ben-Hur Soylent Green earthquake Planet of the Apes El Cid Major Dundee. And at one point he was even president of the NRA, that's right the National Rifle Association.

Cameron loves to use actors over and over. Starting from Terminator, 2, The Abyss, Titanic, etc. Bill Paxton, Arnold, Reese, Linda the Mexican chica from aliens and Terminator 2, etc. I would definitely watch The Abyss, if u haven't.bthe first guy killed in terminator, is bill Paxton, the used car salesman! He's also in titanic and aliens!

One of the funniest romantic action comedy movies ever made! There were talks of a Sequel but it was cancelled due to the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks. A TV series based on the movie was released on CBS but it was cancelled after 13 episodes.
