9:27 Fun fact, the horse on the roof scene almost got Arnold killed for real. During one take, the horse accidentally did throw Arnold off at some point because it got spooked during filming that scene. Fortunately, he saw it coming and managed to jump off in time into the safety cushions before actually falling off the roof of the building. It was not the take where he dangles off the reins of the side of the roof. We almost lost Arnold in the making of this film. So glad we didn't.

*Some trivia*: Tom Arnold's character mentions something like "what kind of sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer?" He was married to Roseanne Barr and she did that to him. He told James Cameron who thought it was so funny he put it into the movie. 9/11 is primarily the reason why we didn't get a sequel. A script was written but after 9/11 Cameron felt that "In this day & age terrorism just isn't funny anymore" This movie was Schwarzenegger's desire to play a secret agent and James Cameron added in the family part as he wondered "What would James Bond's life be like if he was married with children?"

What I love most is she says " I married Rambo". For those who don't know this is hilarious because through the 80's to the mid 90's Stallone and Arnold had a bit of a movie rivalry going that they took pretty seriously. They would try to get each other's auditions and would also to one up each other's films. Arnold once tricked Stallone into doing a movie that ended up being Stallone's biggest flop, the film was "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot". In a nutshell Arnold was offered the movie first but turned it down because he knew it was a garbage script. However instead of leaving it at that Arnold decided to leak to the press that he was actually interested. This of course reaches the ears of Stallone who immediately jump at the chance to be in this movie. Stallone filmed it and to this day regrets it because as he says "It's the worst movie in the solar system". 😂 This is one of my favorite Hollywood stories right after The Mario Bros Movie.

Fun but sad/respectful fun fact: They were going to do a sequel movie for this. Unfortunately, they never started production at all. The story would focus most of it on a commercial airliner with Harry and Helen back as the spy couple. But the 9/11 attacks occurred when they were brainstorming the script. So they decided not to go through with it out of respect and they felt it wouldn't have been appropriate to do so. This film, as James Cameron admitted, was perfect as it was and could work as a standalone.

When I lived in Los Angeles in the late 90’s we use to hang out at the Skybar at the Mondrian Hotel on Sunset Blvd a lot. One day we were coming up to the hotel on the side street ,Olive drive. The women that plays Juno Skinner in this movie,Tia Carreere, was walking up to the Mondrian hotel with a older gentleman that looked exactly like Woody Allen. My buddy yells out “only in America bro, only in America!!!” We ended up seeing them in the Skybar where we sat next to them at the bar and bought them a drink. She was really cool.

The film is an American remake of the 1991 French movie La Totale, starring Thierry Lhermitte as The 'boring' husband who really is a spy, Miou-miou as the bored wife having an affair with the conman played by Michel Boujenah. In it also he uses his spy background to find out about his wife's affair and scare off the would be pretender. True lies is, like most Schwarzenegger movies, not very realistic (even in the context of the film), but it is a lot of fun and holds well, thanks to his great chemistry with, and the acting chops of, Jamie Lee Curtis. And that strip scene. God that woman has a fantastic body. Btw, her falling off while doing it, was a real accident it was not planned. So when Schwarzenegger half raises from his chair after she falls off is because he really thought she hurt herself, it was a genuine reaction that was kept in the movie because it came out so good.

The opening sequence was a parody of James Bond. This is a great, fun movie.

One of the best action comedy movies! James Cameron with his crew from those times!

This is what we get when James Cameron let's his hair down and makes a fun movie for once. He's usually so serious with his films and when this came out it proved that he's just as adept at fun action and comedy, he needs to do more of that. I just wish he'd get off his butt and give us a remastered blu ray and 4K of it, along with 'The Abyss' too.

As amazing as Arnold & JLC are in this, Tom Arnold is surprisingly underrated also.

Everything about this movie is hilarious, but "You know my handcuffs? I've picked them" and he looked so proud of himself when he tells him too, lmfao!!! But you guys cut out one little subtle thing that I love, when they are scaring Simon and he pees himself, after he asks them "Would a terrorist pee himself?" Arnold looks back at Tom's character to like ask his opinion and Tom gives a little head shake for "no" like Arnold's character really needed a second opinion to answer that question, lmfao!!

Watch "Hercules in New York". Classic Arnold movie. As in his first ever film in the US, classically/hilariously bad 😂

Great reaction, Bill Paxton coming clean in the end was priceless. I'm a coward, I have a small dick and I piss my pants. It was comedy gold.
