You know I think it's Escanor PERSONALITY of why people think he a match for Meliodas, If you ever notice in the rule of anime the "cooler" or how "badass" someone look the more powerful you are, which is not the cased. Yes I do love escanor myself but I can't let that stop me from truth that meliodas one shots him out of existence. If you notice the many benefit of the doubt that this man has to give to escanor is like many benefit of the doubt, Because the more the fight drag on the weaker escanor will get and im super surprise that you didn't mention the fact that meliodas can possibly destroy the grace inside escanor himself, I mean like he destroy all the " ten commandments" and im pretty sure that "sunshine" is equal to like 2 or 4 commandment. Meliodas should be able to destroy all four of the grace like he did with the commandment and just like how demon king meliodas use his two arm to creat the "signing sage" meliodas can possibly do the same and if " that guy with the pencil" really want to go there he can be like " you know chandler was meliodas master and chandler know true night that block escanor power, so meliodas can be like true night and bam whats escanor gonna go" because all meliodas have to do is remove "sunshine" from the equation. In the fight I can diffidently see escanor talking some mad smack and the gets one shot by meliodas.

I can see that. The hardest the about this fight is the conditions. Worst comes to worse, and Meliodas stalls him out. I don't think he'll get weaker, he'll likely just die And to be fair, I think if Meliodas were to use his erasure attack, it'd just kill Escanor, the Grace wouldn't matter. To be fair, the Grace of Sunshine in the One Ultimate is just a basis fro Escanor to build off of. He's not reliant on his magic, he's reliant on his life., Yeah, unfortunately.

But the events of that chapter, which was written and illustrated by Nakaba, is canon. It is referencing a fight we know actually happened in canon, because that is where the Goddess Clan got their fear of Meliodas from. It having elements from a non-canon piece of material does not make it non-canon. I wanted to clarify this fight and I'll say straight up meliodas washing this nigga. first thing first both of them r stronger than dk zeldris final phase witch dk stated to be greater than at his best. but dk Britannia was able to go toe to toe with all of them until meliodas used assault mode n beat him. zeldris stated that when meliodas used his true magic form he was greater than dk most likely referring to dk Britannia that took everyone power (including escanor) to beat witch would already scale him way above escanor. not only that escanor power has a limit witch meliodas tbh can just stall n not try also his hax and existence erasure he can just also erase escanor out the spot too. in conclusion true magic form meliodas>dk Britannia>escanor.

Well look at it like this. We saw escanor use final prominence from the one ultimate form and used it when the others fired off their attacks. Mel ends up full countering this combined attack over and over and that attack couldn’t even kill the demon king fully. The commandments were even still existing. Meliodas himself then proceeds to completely annihilate the demon king and commandments from existence. So TMF is definitely and should definitely be objectively stronger than even The One Ultimate

No. Meliodas was never stated to be just below Chaos. It was just said that Meliodas is close to Hawk Mama and it was a joke at that time as he said Hawk Mama's power can not be measured and it was said in Chapter 327.5 (Before even the True Identity of Chaos got revealed in the manga)

No, this is pretty definitive. The OU Escanor scales above the Prime Demon King, but beneath the power of True Magic Meliodas. The OU’s strongest attack, infused with four other ones, multiplied by 1000 times over, couldn’t destroy the Commandments, just the Britannic vessel. Meanwhile TMF Meliodas completely destroyed the Commandments and Demon King in Purgatory in one shot, with no multipliers. Seems quite definitive.

@@thatguywithapencil that is because he sacrificed his whole True Magic Form power, also, Demon King had no vessel at that moment, he was like dead. It is not the same as in the real fight. Meliodas wouldn't be able to do that against the Demon King that fought Escanor. On example, if Escanor sacrificed his whole Sunshine power in one attack in order to destroy DK (without body) and commandments, it is possible that it would work. There is nothing that says that Meliodas can beat Escanor in real battle that way. Meliodas has a statement to be little above DK, and Escanor has feats to be above DK. They are probably about equal in power and speed, but Meliodas would most probably win because of Escanor's time limit. However, Escanor definitely has a good chance. It is hard to explain in words, but I will write to you more about all this some other day. And also, aside from this, I think I don't need to mention that in case Escanor was a demon/goddess or if he gained some purgatory power boosts like Meliodas (not to mention if he both, had the advantages of Demon/Goddess body and got the same purgatory boost as Meliodas), then he would be way too strong for Meliodas. Even the fact that Meliodas is the main character would mean nothing.
