Muhammad Tufail Chishti shares his memories of partition of India in 1947. He was about 10, in class 4, when his family had to flee from their native village Pakka Chishti near Fazilka.
Pakka Chishti was quite near to Sulemanki Headworks, and they were not sure where it would go, in India or in Pakistan. It went to India and they had to leave. Though the newly carved boundry line was 2km away, they had to cross many serious dangers. It was a long journey, journey of life and death, fear and killings.
His maternal aunt, Noor Begam was killed in the way. Two of his relative girls were lost for ever.
