Read morning prayers when you wake up and evening prayers before you go to sleep, read them daily, that helped me cry a lot, hope you start cleaning your soul, sometimes you dont have to cry St. Paisios said sometimes you dont have to cry to feel really bad about the stuff you did, also go to a confession and go to an Orthodox church and ask them for help even if you dont feel sorrow or sadness at tge confession, hope you become better and your whole life

Much needed message, even our own desire to change our lives can become an idol, and I like many christians fell into this trap of legalism, that I needed to do more or prove myself to god, and sometimes still do, that this could be done through my own effort, without God’s help. But the need for his grace, recognized, allows room for his healing work, everything must be done with god’s help. In my own life I know that sacramental confession is critical for the reception of this charism. I became Christian last year in September and became interested in Orthodox Christianity. but lately, especially since December, I've become unrepentant. mostly sexual sin and recreationally smoking weed, developing a slight addiction to it. Recognise the addiction for what it is. Admit you’ll smoke again but commit to doing so precisely 30 minutes later. 30 minutes. Only 30 minutes. 30 minutes. The next day ask yourself if you can wait an additional 5 min. Or two. Reframe the goal. From today it is 30 minutes after your craving, maybe less if it’s too hard. The passage of time will reveal extraordinary success within a month. And ofcourse, Pray. Ask God to fill the vacuum with His love. Trust your feelings. I would suggest replace that time period when not smoking with music, preferably an instrument, or prayer if this is not convenient.

Thank you Father for this message. I am not yet Orthodox, but I’ve been fed spiritually through this teaching. It’s been a while since this has started, but I’ve really hurt my soul… I’ve chosen over and over to ignore God’s goodness and hurt my conscience in favour of trying to soothe my own in my old sinful manner, instead of trusting in Him. I finally learned true repentant sorrow in my heart over sinning when God first gifted me my repentance in 2023, but over the past year I’ve gradually grown hardened and numb again. Just the other day however, I made the full decision to lay aside my self again. I honestly feel fearful and discouraged by my state though, knowing that I’m not fully repentant in the way I should be, that part of me has only stopped out of fear of my circumstances, but I want to be made true… and I ask for prayers that God would grant me a transformation once again, and for the power to strive for a true repentance and right relationship with God. I don’t really want to fall away. I know no matter what I am, God is the only good and true one… Thank you again for the message and understanding you bring through this channel. God bless, Father.

I’m not Orthodox but I am a Christian. I enjoy listening to Father Spyridon.🥰 I believe Genuine Repentance is giving our Whole Life over to the Lord.
