@@masol3726 Frankly........BS! They haven't listened to feedback for seven years and when there was still good faith they shot everyone down that offered good faith criticism backed up by sources. With the infamous "sekrit documents" There are certain issues with the Flight models (FM), which means that if you compare them to the HSFX 7 Flightmodels in Il-2 1946, all WW2 aircraft I have looked at (Bf 109 F-4, F-4/Trop, F-2, G-2/trop, P-47 D-22, P-47 D-25, P-38-J-15 and likely the P-38 G-1) they all underperform.......well in the case of the 109 F-4 and G-2 except in one metric, speed in level flight..... In case of the F-4 it's between 0.36 and around 5 m/s, and in the case of the P-38 it's about 12 m/s in climbrate that is missing. One thing that tipped me off towards that is that the 109 F-4 and G-2/trop have the same turn time which is weird, given that the F-4 was significantly lighter leading to a worse power loading and wing loading. So the F-4 should turn slightly better than the G-2. Also the Spitfire does turn worse than it's HSFX 7 IL-2 1946 counterpart. Why the HSFX 7? Well in HSFX 6 they got an EADS Aircraft Engineer, yeah a guy who designs aircraft to rework all the flight models in IL-2 1946 to be more realistic. Now this did expose some of the problems with the old Forgotten Battles Engine, namely that it doesn't model CG (Center of Gravity) shift due to fuel burn, but sets one at the start of the mission. This could lead to some very bad problems with certain aircraft like the late model Mustangs, if you started the mission on full internal fuel you could get a CG that was very aft and therefore not really stable. With negative effects on Handling and combat capability. Very likely that War Thunder has the same issue. We also know that the 109 in IL-2 1946 has always had it's slats modelled in the FM, something which is unclear of the WT one. Admittedly the 109 in IL-2 Cliffs of Dover/Desert Wings Tobruk and IL-2 Great Battles flies even better than the 1946 one, especially around the pattern and in low speed handling. Practically all aircraft handle better there. Edit: I'm going to research the flight models further with the availlable real life documents to check further, because well there is always the possibility that the data from another sim might be wrong. Now some of the issues Mentioned in this video here could be easily fixed, by solutions we proposed SEVEN years ago............the coordination issue for example, by integrating a teamwide voip, so that pilots could coordinate. Now this would need certain features, like a microphone test while background audio is played to check for a recording that is understandable, but does not transmit all the sounds a player or his system makes, because nothing is as annoying as a player with a constantly open mike. Even more so if that causes feedback noise. Anyone who's ever played an air combat game or sim can tell you how necessary realtime voice communications are for the sucess of a team, there just is no replacement for it. In IL-2 we could handle it easily with TS due to the server structure (you joined a server and a team of players that organized prior to the mission), but since War Thunder assigns you randomly to teams of random people, we need to have that ingame. And DCS has the tech built in now, so it's not exactly the dark arts. Mind you we proposed exactly that in 2013...... Hell when some of the sim players gave feedback to improve it, so that they could recommend it to their friends in combat flight sims and more people would play, they were told that their community was too small anyway to matter tand that they should instead focus on getting more players in to make it worth the devs while to fix those issues. Yeah it's not the devs job to make a game that is worthwile to play and recommend to your friends, it's the player's job to make it worth the dev's while to fix things..... And that's not just back then, look at today, how often have you heard Spit flyer and various other youtuber's critique issues in WT and how often have you seen them fixed?

@@LupusAries Man, I feel you... I was playing Simulator Battles since 2012 back when it was still called FRB (Full-Real Battles) and used to post on the forums all the time. The mistreatment of the sim community was just shocking, the worst I have ever seen from a game dev ever. We were ignored and sidelined and marginalized until eventually they just got rid of SB altogether. I know there's still EC but it's not the same. You're 100% right about everything, especially VOIP. Can't count the number of times I've been watching a bandit dive on a friendly and have to awkwardly fumble with the keyboard typing '666666' as he gets shot down. You should put all these issues together into a forum post. 99% sure it won't have any effect whatsoever and will just be ignored like everything else, but I'd like for these issued to be recorded officially, rather than just in a KZbin comment. o7

Honestly seeing the mig 19 really reminds me of trying to fly my j35 stock. All I have for the next foreseeable 100k rp are guns. In this missile meta I'd be stupid to rush for anything other than missiles, but in doing so I'm neglecting the engine upgrades. It just feels like I'm stuck fighting an opponent with every advantage. Don't get me wrong, the j35 is amazing in it's first turn fight, but after one or two hard turns it's out of energy and with a stock engine I rarely survive long enough to get it back.

3:00 - 3:40 is a great demonstrator of the MiG-19's performance. The plane's flight characteristics are phenomenal, in terms of acceleration, climb, energy retention and manoeuverability. I absolutely love it, and imo its the most satisfying plane at top tier. However, it struggles in terms of top speed and because of its lack of good missiles. If a later Nanchang Q-5 like the Q-5C or D were added, that could actually be really good if it got PL-5 or PL-7 missiles.

As someone who flies the MiG-19 in DCS, the P variant particularly I can confirm a lot of this is true. Non significant turning capabilities, a2a missiles only rear aspect and pretty short range, non significant radar and a grand total of only 146 bullets. But as hard as it is to fly it, Letts talk about the good stuff. The cannons, radar assisted gun sight, know I said it wasn't that significant, but it's still ok, really good handling, acceleration, an rwr actually, only reading the back hemisphere but still useful for detecting radar locks,tho again kinda pointless since no fox3s. Still pretty fun, overall my fav.

I think it would be great to do a runthrough on things like generally USA planes do well with boom n zoom, heavy planes generally have good energy retention, japanese planes are really turny. And do kinda of a x counters y which counters z. I know iv watched a lot of your videos and its made me a significantly better pilot in general, but it would be really nice to have a modern guide since you really are good at explaining these things.

Why aren't they doing those historical events they used to do? I remember there was stuff like the Battle of Britain with Spits, Hurricanes, 109Es etc. Also Korea with Sabres going up against MiG15s. There was one for RB and one for SB - I mainly played Simulator Battles back then (before they got rid of it) and I really loved dueling with MiGs over Korea from the cockpit view, the immersion was intense! They should do the same thing nowadays - imagine a Vietnam War event with Phantoms vs MiGs etc in Sim mode, having to rely on your radar to locate targets in cockpit view, with BVR engagements and so on. That would be so awesome!!

I like this. Truly the only way to solve the que time issue effectively is by shortening the player count per match. 7v7 is good but we should also get a 5v5 or lower if necessary. It will especially make jet gameplay more engaging and less of a blur. 7.0 to 7.7 jets is greatly effected by player count since not many people play axis at those br's. I agree make a BR for all the 10.0s and the more powerful 9.7. I love the way 9.7 was isolated from top tier. It meant that I didn’t have to get dunked on by the top tiers in my CL-13B. I’ve been thinking since then, that the 10.0s need their own isolated BR. I love my Hunter F.6, US F-100D and MIG-19S. I would love for them to be competitive again.

You got to make another video in this plane if you fly like an over aggressive maniac it works great with its acceleration and energy retention is great, the plane can take on many opponents at once you just have to be in the sweet spot where they are too closer for a missile and just to far for guns a climbing two circle fight with two or even three can go your way if you keep them between 1 and 1.5 km

Sabres are the most tedious the fly against in the G.91r. They are faster than you, maneuver better than you, and retain energy better than you. You just have to force an overshoot or stay out of it’s guns to get out alive, unless its an F2 Sabre or F86k in which its curtains of you get in front of their guns.

I'm not gonna disagree with you but the mig 19S and PT do have some upsides. None of the other top BR aircraft can climb like it or at least that's what I've noticed, and I know you don't think altitude has much meaning in the top BR meta but it does at least in the 19's case, SARHs and missiles in general have a much smaller engagement range if they have to climb to their targets altitude, and most of the time people arent expecting someone to dive down from 30000 feet as most people seem to stop climbing at 20000, the 19 to me now a days is very much a BnZ aircraft but it also out turns basically everything despite not having the AoA that the 21s get, and your TWR makes you a very good fighter in vertical engagements assuming your are able to stay close enough that they aren't able to get a missile off on you. I agree the top speed is lack luster compared to the aircraft you are facing and when it's you versus someone who isn't going to get baited into turn fighting with you and they keep their speed up yeah your pretty much fucked unless you get a lucky head on but I still think it's a very competitive aircraft. It's an aircraft where you have to be super carful in your engagements, my favorite thing to do is to wait for the fight to start let everyone get pumped up and tunnel visioned on one another then swoop in well they are low, slow, and stupid.

I was thinking more of a low supersonic 10.0, with T-2 and Jaguar at most in it and then going gradually up with the early F-4s, F-104s, Su-7s and MiG-21Fs at 10.7 and then the rest at higher or something along those lines

How do you do so when using free cam and moving the plane your plane doesn't try to go to the previous position? It keeps going where you want

I don’t know modern jets that well as I just got used to Korean War Jets (despite suffering from missiles). Should I climb really high to have higher potential energy or stay shallow and build up more speed? I always find myself getting shot down by top tier jets and all by missiles. I always take 20 min of fuel since afterburner seems essential and ditched the missiles. Only saving grace of this plane is its repair price that I find helpful in ground battle as a fighter bomber

Climb to at most 3000 meters for most planes, then get as much speed as possible before engaging enemies while staying at 3000m. Remember when climbing to climb at 500-600 km/h and to slowly lose speed during a climb. An angle of about 7.5 degrees should work.

Spit, i have question - how you and other wt youtubers make mouse aim circle move while you look around? Just mine is stuck in one place 90% of the times while i do same thing.

They use their keyboard to help them aim it take a lot of skill

Bind the pitch, roll and yaw axes to keys on the keyboard in the control settings. I personally use the spacebar as 'pitch up' so when I'm in a dogfight I just use my thumb to hold down the spacebar so my plane keeps turning at maximum while I can use the mouse to look around. I hope that helps :)

Correct like what he said 10.0 BR planes are near worthless anymore [9.7-10.0] BR should be it’s own bracket I believe most of the community would agree with this and not mind if there was a little bit of a longer Q time !

@@Spitflyer fair enough mate, I understand that real life can get in the way. I just don't understand why none of my favourite warthunder youtubers have addressed this, considering that it's probably the the biggest change to air RB this year. Other than a single post on the forums and the odd one on the Reddit, no one is talking about the fact that historical matchmaking completely gone from lower BR and and both the lower and higher BR jet caps are completely gone! Doesn't matter what BR I play, all I see is Japan and America vs the rest and I'm honestly kinda sick of it. Well gl, thanks for the reply and hopefully you can make a video addressing this soon.

If you are comfortable using guns against planes in a BR bracket, where every other plane gets missiles and RWR or flares, go for it. MiG-19S has really strong engines and a high thrust-to-weight ratio, which allows for it to remain competitive at some level.

I love this plane I just got it and have had a great time. It mainly depends on the team like you said you can’t carry 1 v 2s but if you have a good team this thing can do soooo much damage. Me and the other mig 19pt clutched a game against f4es Ps some how I dodged two srrams back to back in this think stock.
