I am enjoying all your podcasts. I worked for Dept. of State for several years and my brother was employed by them from 1959 until 1983 as Special Agent DS-DSS when he retired. He continued working as a contract employee with USAID, USIA and DIS after retirement until 1998. Just regarding this recording I recalled a 3 month trip when, for the first time he traveled to Moscow, visiting the Russian White House and the Embassy there before traveling on to Almaty, Kazakhstan, working to locate suitable housing for the first US Embassy there. Unfortunately he passed away in 2000 after being diagnosed the year before with lung cancer and we never got together to write and discuss many of his travels. I am glad you are able to find so many brave diplomates, dupes and spy's willing to share their stories.
