But it was during Kibaki tenure that MPs hiked their salaries and allowances to historic levels? It was during Kibaki/ Odinga that we had a bloated government-- 42 ministers and a bunch of assistants? Another person was said to have hidden money in tax heavens by the Panama papers. Why were no revolts then? Me thinks tribal instincts are at play. I would have loved to see Manyora as President and see how he manuvers through our tribal mindsets. You can tell already he plays to the big tribes, by his interviewers and interviewees.

We have the so called GenZs. Back then they used to call themselves "THE YOUNG TURKS,". They really harassed Moi, but when many got into government, they did the same thing they accused Moi of doing and even worse. They were United in their pursuit of Moi, but split up into tribal enclaves once they felt they had won the battle. Nothing is going to be different with Zs. They will eventually retreat to their tribal zones , once they get a chance to be players in politics.
