I was in art school in north Jersey in late 87-on, and kept hearing songs from Appetite on WDHA.... wondered who the band was, instantly caught by the power of the songs, but couldn't find the album anywhere in stores, etc. I was shocked they weren't on the bigger mainstream channels out of NYC. Worked in a movie theater in the summer, saw them in DEAD POOL and was surprised. No word of this band ANYWHERE--NOTHING. Finally, at a party of frat boys, mingling in with theater people, the whole party stopped to go downstairs in this girls' house to watch MTV as they debuted SWEET CHILD O' MINE. Everyone, 50 people, stopped in unison to watch. That was my first moment to witness them on MTV, and from that moment the band erupted across media and on the lips of everyone college age or younger.

Badass band. Crazy Rock & Roll. My first concert was gun's n roses with skid row and I was well on my way to my future of rocking my own band. It's been a roller coaster ride through the meanacing decades of life.

I love this interview !! Slash is wasted !!! " it ain't gonna work, I'm not saying I'm built like a Heineken bottle but...." and then smashes the bottle and condom against a wall. I laugh so hard every time!! The look on his face before he throws it...priceless !!! One night in the jungle is well well worth the watch !

That is not J.J. Jackson. It was a V.J. named Smash that did the interview. G N' R rules!

@@scottv9479 Yeah, I've seen One Night in The Jungle. Really worth the watch. It almost looks like footage from The Decline of Western Civilization pt. II.
