Thank you for sharing your memories. I too recreated on Mt. St. Helens pre-eruption. I never saw anything but I certainly had that feeling of being watched and hearing strange noises while camping up there. Post-eruption I was on a crew of 30 Portland Public Works employees that took equipment up to Yakima and spent a few weeks helping dig the town out from the ashfall. That was quite an experience for a young man just starting out his 32 year career in public service.

I spent a lot of time there 1966-1975. We caught many Steelhead from the Fish Hatchery upstream to the Independence Mine area. Hardly ever saw another person. There were two guys in the area running hounds after Cougar. Many Elk in that area.

I have heard rock clacking, although much faster than that showed. It was in Augusta County, Virginia, in the George Washington National Forest and about 2 or 3 am in the morning.

There are many types of birds that catch snails and other things and smack them against rocks... maybe what you were hearing...
@ExploringSitkaAlaskausin-wj4wu6 сағат бұрын
No snails at that elevation. It was loud rock being banged together.

If you knew Bigfoot. They regularly crack rocks together In cadence I don't know why but it is routine when they're trying to scare people.

Then it gets me to thinking that Bigfoot not being able to wear clothing he would have to carry those special rocks that are not on Mount Saint Helen he’d have to carry him in his hands all day
