"The Philippines: Preserving a Culture of Life" is a story of the struggle for faith and family. It is Part I of Human Life International's True Stories documentary series.
The pro-life values of the Philippines have been under assault for many years by Western pro-abortion advocates trying to pass the anti-life Reproductive Health (RH) Bill. After many failed attempts, the peddlers of the culture of death are now closer than ever to passing the RH Bill, and fundamentally changing the Philippines forever. (NOTE: In December 2012, the Congress of the Philippines finally passed the destructive RH Bill and it was signed into law by President Beningno Aquino. We remain engaged with our Filipino brothers and sisters as the battle for life and family enters this new stage. Although the documentary is outdated on this point, the insights it contains remain true, as do its warnings for the future of the Philippines if the provisions of the bill are fully realized and it is not reversed.)

Actually if you look at history, it is the Catholic church that founded the university system of education, founded the hospitals. Many great scientists in the past were Catholic. Students in catholic schools in the inner city do better than their public school counterparts, even though less than half the money is spent on their education. The reason is that the children in catholic schools generally come from homes with both a mother and father, These parents are concerned about the education of their children and make it a priority. My daughter pays $9000/yr for their education, because the govt does not pat a penny to support their Catholic school.

The schools in phils focuses more on teaching the youth with good moral values. Rather than brain-washing their children rights. That is why filipino youth grow with good moral values. The church plays a big part too in upbringing the youth in the right path.

CORRUPTION IS THE BIG PROBLEM IN THE PHILIPPINES. ERADICATE CORRUPTION FIRST. The gov't officials must come back to the Lord while maintaining balance of laws they shouldn't abandon their faith.

Overpopulation can cause our sources to deplete, as well as to deplete the resources then hunger and starvation would increase. Logically says, that if the country population is high then we can't sustain the food production to us

I'm Catholic but I wish you go to the Barrios and open your eyes to reality...I was a volunteer helping our midwife delivering babies in the far flung mountains begore. One that stick in my mind was a family of 8 in the Barrio with parents who has no permanent jobs. They have no money to buy rice and foods. Here we are waiting for baby#8 to come out and looking at the other kids eating green bananas cuz they have no rice. My heart collapse...seeing these politicians all of them dressed nice, cars, big mansions while my fellow country in the mountains lived below poverty line...
