I am not saying it's evil, but it's definitely unethical. A crime should have punishment period. Either you did the crime or you didn't. Either you are going to receive the punishment described by law or not. But there shouldn't be any kind of private business making deals with the police. I don't think they should go easier on you because of a tv show. That doesn't seem fair.

I agree - it seems like entrapment. Those guys are creeps for sure, but if the decoys weren't on the website in the first place, maybe a lot of them weren't even looking for something like that or even inclined, but then the opportunity arose and the temptation enticed them. The deals with the PDs does seem unethical. And certainly, the takedowns when the guys left the house were completely overblown and unnecessary. One man even killed himself when he realized he was being enticed, and they had a SWAT team storming his house. Sad!
