It’s the backstory of angel. This is how he got to the hotel before the pilot. The start is how he died and his beginning of his life in hell. Then Cherri comes in and as his friend tries to remove the things that hurt her BFF. The after song then hits on how he first goes to the hotel and how hostile angel is with other demons but also that maybe it’s not so bad there compared to his life before

Actually, the stuff in the music video apparently happens *_after_* the pilot, especially considering the characters' Instagram posts. For example, according to Valentino's Instagram, the pink strip club is brand new. That, and a few days before the music video came out, Husker posted that Angel gave him a ticket to his "peep show this Friday", and the music video came out that Friday. Just before the music video came out, Angel posted a selfie where he was wearing the outfit from the beginning of the video, standing in a pink dressing room with Valentino's coat hanging on the mirror, saying he was "bouta start the show." There's also been implications that Angel is still working for Valentino, etc.
