Mr Shailesh, dividend yield will matter only if you are investing for the sake of dividends, which is rarely the case. But for a thumb rule, rare investors who invest keeping dividends in mind will consider a dividend yield that is more than what we get in a normal bank FD for one year 😊 But at last, such dividend investing is rare.

You can, but the issue is that while interest payments in FDs are guaranteed, a company may not decide to pay dividend. Otherwise you can compare the two things.
