If you use the medium side floor and press the switch on one you can play the floor to attach them but it will still work both ways.

leaving this here unless can tell me otherwise. I dont think its stated how long it can be but I believe there is a certain distance that you can no longer add rails. The dessert Biome for me is really far from me so I was making mine to cross over the ocean to the dessert. I got to the point where I would try and add a new rail and nothing happens or at least a piece doesnt get placed but it shows on the left I am spending the mats to place it. I was pretty bummed because I really wanted this to work because the 15-20 mins run is very tiring.

This happened to me but luckily I was over an island so I just built another train start there basically and am working on completing the rest of the rails, my biggest issue has been getting it to balance consistently I've made the train multiple timess but it's fallen off right near the end of the track

DONT DO THIS!!! if your in survival, you will be wasting materials constantly!! it doesn't stay on the track, if anything on the platform touches another source I.E. a wall or floor it destroys the wheels and thrusters, also has the tendency to jump over the other train part and ruining both, you'll spend all day to build this, only to keep patching it after a few runs back and fourth, if one part of the track gets destroyed and isn't supported you lose the whole track... not worth it! made the same thing this guy did, but was made before the video was even posted, had to scrap the idea after spending several hours fixing it, if your in creative, it works fine, but you can also fly... point being this is a waist of time an resources, I have spent so much time building this to be happy when it worked and then not wanting to play the game anymore after spending the same amount of time fixing the damn thing over and over again...

Yea I agree. It works great during a session but once you load in it is always jank. Like something is always flipped over. Im gonna try blocks instead of wheels and see how it goes

You want to keep building and collect all materials. The more stuff you find the more recipes it unlocks. And when you build villages in different locations it unlocks things. Basically Dr. Stone in game

Spent about 3-4 hours grinding and building 3 rails back to back to back because of the length limit. Built some trains for the rails. After several attempts to fix the issue, I can’t seem to get them to NOT derail eventually. And pretty frequently as well. Oh well. The worst part is the wasted half a day. Be warned, high chance of derail. Tried with 3 Large Thrusters as well as 2 Large Thrusters on each side.

I had made something horrific didn't test it made a trail all the way from the grasslands to the desert and ass soon as my contraption was ready i hit rhe ignition and it broke... the whole dam thing just gone in an instant damage was permanent 😅

I did this and it derailed for me, I used 3 large thrusters and tried making it as even as possible. when it derailed it flipped over and unless im blind I noticed the wheels that I placed there just disappeared, im guessing the friction broke the wheels by slowly doing damage to its hp? idk it was weird and besides the theory of the wheels breaking idk what else could have happened

My contraption always breaks, the wheels and thrusters always fall off. I made it so stable. Two rails on either side, 3 wheels on either side and even two in the middle and every once in a while the wheels fall off and or the thrusters or the whole contraption falls off.

Too slow hehe, when I made my first train I built guardrails: 1 big foundation and 2 long half walls on both sides, I used a simple 4 wheel car with 1 large booster. It gets so glitchy when i go fast, I added a bed to not fly 5 miles in the air. And also with my contraption I only need to press the button 4 times to go from spawn to desert 😂
