12/14/22: update. It’s T2 weather again. Pants still alive, but close to death. I’ve switched back to Duluth firehose stretch pants again. This time in “carpenter” vs cargo. They look awesome, fit really well in 36x36 (this is the first time I’ve gone with 36 length and it’s great. 35” would be good too, but happy for the length as they keep drafts out at the cuff). So, the T2 update: I’d buy them again but only if they change the fit, pockets, belt loops. Which I don’t see them doing.

3 years later: pants are still kicking. Probably 200 days of work and they have some tears, but all are sowable. Knees are still good. I blew out the crotch seam a year ago. I had it professionally repaired. Zippers and Velcro are holding up well. if the fit was better (for me) I’d consider buying another pair at this point. Based on their durability, they are a great value.

I'd like to see an update as well. I thought you did your initial review great though. Props on staying true and to the point with pros and cons. I'm going to go ahead and pick up a pair for Law Enforcement work but you have much heavier use on them so I'd like to know how they're holding up after months some good use on them.

eric vest yeah, I did not wear them for the summer months, but they are back in weekly rotation now. At this point: I’d NOT buy them again. I’ve got some gripes with the design. I’ll update my review in the coming months.

I have been wearing Duluth ultimate firehose cargo pants for about 10 years . Love them except for there newest version has nylon pockets and when you start to sweat, the insides of your pockets get soaking wet! And for me the seam in the butt always blows on this version. They always warranty them however it’s not fun having your butt hanging out. With that said they are great work pants. However I also am trying out the truewerk pants just got them I already wish they had more pockets but boy are they comfortable! I need to put more miles on them to see how they perform!

I just purchased a pair in my normal size of 32x30. They are tight and short, I'm 5'8" and 155 pounds. The pockets are terrible. Will stick with my FXD WP-3.

Yes. There is a BIT of stretch in the waist. I’d say about an inch of stretch.

Update: 7/25/2021. Crotch sewing has completely released exposing another weakness of these pants. I’ll plan on contacting the company to see if they will do anything to help me. Based on this issue and the others, I won’t buy another pair.

Thanks for the update. Crotch seams are always where pants fail on me, first so that's my #1 concern.

Hey Leo, what work pants would you recommend at this point?...durability and adequate pockets being the main concern for me. I did buy a pair of Wrangler ATG from Tractor Supply but really lacking in leg pockets although seem to be very comfortable and durable...thank you!

I’m liking the Duluth “stretch dry on the fly” pants and shorts. Pocket layout is awesome and materials is very good. Downside: they are not warm at all (which makes them great above 40 degrees). I wear a thin base layer once it gets around freezing.

A little bit, yes. Not close to as much as actual nylon snow pants, but more than jeans.

@@leodesforges161 I’ve had some bad moments that really pissed me off. They did make up for it recently though. Love the clothing though
