The Ukrainian leader met Donald Trump on Friday as he sought to shore up a rift with Republicans, who were irritated when Zelensky attended an event with a Democratic governor in the swing state of Pennsylvania.
Ukraine’s leader had arrived in the US capital with a shopping list of requests - some would call them demands - that together are known as his “victory plan”. Principal among them was a plea for the White House to approve use of US and British long-range weapons on Russia territory.
