A further point: much of US assistance has also been to the simultaneous benefit to the US itself. Although the aid is quoted in dollars much of the equipment has been from stocks reaching the end of its scheduled maintenance and the 'book value' is added into the figure. This equipment, manufactured in the US then has to be replaced - creating jobs and income in the US.

You need to check what you remember. It was Yanukovych who convinced parliament to abandon NATO membership, not Zelenskyy. Parliament even decided to push for rejoining before Zelenskyy became president. Ukraine joined the NATO partnership programmes under Zelenskyy. You really need to check what you write before an uncharitable person thinks you're deliberately lying, rather than mistaken.
