Partisanship or the appearance of not being partisan. Special councils such as Kenneth Star were appointed by Congress. A partisan AG should not have the power to appoint a special council and systematically declare it impartial. There was nothing impartial about any of this and AG Garland had full power to spin the narrative.. Let alone, this cases entire premise that a President does not have the power to declassify documents is ludicrous. It goes directly against 200+ years of precedence and would have eventually lost in higher courts.

Every single other court has disagreed with Cannon's opinion. If this is a valid opinion that means every other case that has ever involved a special counsel now needs to be overturned including the one where Hunter Biden was convicted.

No, she read and interpreted the constitution 100% spot on. A special prosecutor or officer can only be appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. It’s in black and white. Any judge would make the same decision. Regardless of special councils appointments in the past she made the correct decision according to the constitution again it’s in black and white. Precedence is not set by ignoring the law as has been done in the past appointments of “ special councils “. Finally a judge with common sense.

Trump did get lucky. First of all Cannon should have recuse herself immediately. There's no more clear conflict of interest than presiding over a case for the person who hired you. Second special counsels have been assigned plenty of times in the past and it has been determined that those assignments are legitimate. Third Canon has been slow rolling this case since the very beginning and very clearly it was just waiting for the best time to dismiss it.

I believe the charge of violating 18 USC 371 (conspiracy to defraud the United States) is reasonable. I know Special Counsel Jack Smith should not be allowed to take the case forward, but judging only the charge 371 is reasonable. The 18 USC 1512 (k)+(c)(2) charge should be dismissed on a technicality, but the 1512 (c)(2) charge should be dismissed due to Fischer v United States. I do not know enough about about Georgia RICO cases to comment on that case. The New York trial has already happened, but President Donald Trump should not be convicted and even if the is verdicts are not vacated that conviction should be overturned on appeal.
