"President Trump on Friday said he wanted to see two actions taken in California before he offered federal support for Los Angeles as it grapples with wildfires.
“I want to see two things in Los Angeles. Voter ID, so that the people have a chance to vote, and I want to see the water be released and come down into Los Angeles and throughout the state,” Trump told reporters in North Carolina, where he was touring hurricane recovery efforts.
“Those are the two things. After that, I will be the greatest president that California has ever seen,” he added.
Trump is slated to visit Los Angeles later Friday to view damage from the fires and meet with local officials."

When a red state needs aid they will get it, that is what California is paying for. When California needs aid, is conditional. When democrats win they will not hold aid for any state and no conditions will be imposed. But why do we have these options and can be only one way? If there are guardrails, why can Trump just ignore them? This should be law and not a presidential decision.

You actually pointed something out to me, and I realize what Trump’s strategy is when he says both things. It is plausible deniability that if he ever gets pinned down in the future, in an attempt to make him accountable, he can cite where he did say something as opposed to the other position that we will obviously be trying to drill him on. So he both says that he will help California without stipulations, and also says that he will only help California pending stipulations. That way he has counterpropaganda that Fox News and other right wing media can pull up a clip of him saying that he did proactively help, because here he is saying as much. 💁🏽

I've watched several videos of these KZbin families, that I like and when I see these videos I'm sure most of those families voted for and support trump, but to also watch those videos and see people who are on the ground who actually live there getting upset by the fires it really drives home the point of how bad the fires are and watching people who are personally affected, it's hard to not cry as the bleeding heart liberal feels sorry for these people, it's upsetting trump is even screwing over his own supporters because he doesn't like their governor in California.
