I'm a rural American who built his own ISP 30 years ago. This year, I finally got FTTH, with GigE GPON service. I kept my point-to-point wireless, 36Mbps/12Mbps, because it will soon be GigE WAVE service. Satellite has higher latency, costs just as much as GPON or WAVE does, and folks around here don't get the 100Mbps advertised. My ranch will have GPON sometime in '26, the fiber provider partnered with the rural electric co-op to use thei poles. I'm off-grid except for three power poles. If I could've run broadband up there myself, I would've, but it's several miles to the highway and that's expensive. And would never be profitable for a fiber provider, for one customer. I don't want subsidized satellite service, I want the subsidies to continue for rural FIBER/WAVE service. It's real, and it's here (I live a dozen miles from my ranch), and there is no reason NOT to do this for the economic benefit of the entire country.

Jeff Bezos has always had a deep fascination with space. It's something he used to talk about when he was still very young and long before he became rich. The primary difference between him and Elon is that he has a diametrically opposed vision. Quite rightly, he recognizes Earth is the only planet in the solar system even remotely capable of hosting human life. For example he uses the metaphor that living on the top of Mount Everest would be an absolute paradise compared to living on Mars. His vision is not to colonate planets but to create artificial space habitats such as an O'neill cylinder. His vision is to create a space economy And by that I believe he is referencing the possibility of performing certain industrial tasks better done in space than here on Earth. Basically he's saying you create an infrastructure in space upon which you then build a functional and sustainable economy. While I believe Jeff's vision is quite fantastical, it is still far more grounded and realistic than Elon. I don't particularly like Jeff and feel Amazon is a truly awful company, but at least Jeff is not a megalomatic narcissist and seems to be in possession of basic common sense.

Great channel I love this content but I wholly regret subscribing. As soon as the algorithm smelled that I might like conservative-coded centre-left anti-Trump content it's just completely flooded my feed. KZbin I would sincerely like to go back to watching cat videos, game walkthroughs and comedy skits please thanks.

Hey Chris, I'm new to this channel and have enjoyed all of your content, "a tiny bit" repetitive, but that's totally OKAY, most impressed with your expression of values, ethics and moral behavior, especially when it comes to corporate business actions. They all seem to have fallen like domino's. It's pathetic and sad! Your thoughts and opinions are refreshing and so accurate on so many levels. I do have one exception, Tesla and bankruptcy, never going to happen, too far-fetched, they are "protected." We would have expected the same end with Tabaco companies and Purdue, the Oxycontin manufacturer, no such luck, their all thriving and loving every minute of it...
