Since you said that, please tell me what actual credible and/or physical evidence you have that PROVES Trump had anything to do with that? I'm old enough to remember Nixon and Watergate. Even to this very day, there is NO evidence Nixon ordered that break in which is why it was not an article of impeachment nor would be be prosecuted for it had Ford not pardoned him. But his aides did which is why they went to jail. What we know is that Trump called for a peaceful march outside the Capitol. Which thousands of people did. He then went back to the White House and just sat and did nothing. Keeping silent is not a crime. If you read the new filing that was unsealed, you would know that a Trump aide suggested a riot, but not Trump himself. Just like Nixon. Or do you think one person should be responsible for the conduct of another?

You're wrong. The Justice Department has a policy that they do NOT go after candidates this close to the election so as not to sway the voters. And Smith did not do that. Instead, it was the JUDGE, who happens to be a democrat, who unsealed that just 4 1/2 weeks before the election. He could have waited a month, especially given the backlog in the courts. It makes one think, doesn't it?

You would appear to not understand chain of custody and the effect on integrity of investigation. Please do not expose your bias so readily. Digital forensics investigation is objective and the metadata from the hard drive indicated tampering of the data which rendered it inadmissible as evidence - it had the potential to be false.

You don't understand. People today don't think clearly. I'm old enough to remember when Nixon was president and the whole Watergate thing erupted. To this very day, there is no proof that Nixon himself ordered that break in which is why it was NOT one of the articles of impeachment presented by the House Judiciary Committee nor was Nixon going to be indicted for it had Ford not pardoned him. However, his aides did in fact order it which is why some of them went to jail for it. These documents show that one of Trump's aides called for a riot on J6. But NOT Trump himself. However, unlike 1974, people today are still blaming Trump for that riot. As if he had control over the actions of another adult person and should have known what he was going to do. It's almost like a 'guilt by association' thing which is wrong. Also, the documents show Pence tried to convince Trump to give up his objections to the election and Trump refused. That is not a crime. The one thing which might be a crime is the documents show that Trump tried to convince Pence to stop the certification. Which Pence did not. I'm not a legal scholar so I am not sure if asking someone to do something which does not happen constitutes an actual crime.

We were headed there pre-9/11. But, once we were attacked on our soil, we somehow became more nonsensical and self absorbed. Trump reminds me of my alcoholic ex-wife! She said something once that just blew my mind. She got totally wasted and was driving to the next bar when she got pulled over and arrested. The report said, she was driving in and out of the ditch, then almost ran head on into a semi-truck, and finally was stopped while driving on a sidewalk. But when I talked to her, she blamed it all on the police officer for being there and arresting her. It wasn't her fault for being drunk and driving; it was the officer's fault for doing his job! It's election interference when he broke the law and is being held accountable for it. Let's not forget why he ran to start with. He claims it was because He wanted to keep Biden out of office. The Justice Department has a policy in which they do not go after or say anything about candidates this close to election day so as not to risk influencing people's vote. Smith adhered to that rule. However, it was the JUDGE, who just happens to be a democrat, who chose to unseal those documents. Ask yourself a question. There is no way that Trump's case will begin this year. So why did the democratic judge choose a month before the election to release those documents? What was the purpose?

How does Rosenberg know whether it was partisan decision by the judge to unseal it now or not, he does not say. Timing looks partisan and the Judge is an Obama nominee. Justice needs not only to be done, but also to be seen to be done. Why could the Judge not have waited until after the election? All of this being the case, I don't see how NBC can assert that Trump's claim is false. NBC does not provide enough facts here for one to know.
