Trump Imposes Tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China | Vantage with Palki Sharma | N18G

Canada and Mexico have announced tit-for-tat tariffs on the US, while China is filing a complaint at the WTO. Palki Sharma tells you how this tariff war will unfold.

@@iSanjit1996 yes, but America is the most powerful economy and military in the world! Why is it so hard to just to clean up your own borders? And stop helping other countries sending drugs and migrants into our country? The answer is so simple but they can’t!! Canada and Mexico depend on china to sending drugs into our country with open borders and they can’t hide from President Trump 2.0. President Trump know everything about the three stooges (Mexico, Canada, & china) and there is no denying any longer!! Tariffs are nothing comparable to drugs and illegal migrants and human trafficking or slaves and missing children went into our country and President trump knows everything!!

In contrast to what indians badmouth Trudeau ... i Pakistani Canadian will say to trump; "NO"... neither Trudeau fell for extorsion of Canadian sea routes between alaska and Greenland and Trudeau's upcoming colleagues also cannot be forced into barter trading these routes with keeping trump calm... (1) Canada should put electricity exports to Greenland in top gear even it has to over stretch Site-C-Dam's supply lines from current west-central to eastern flank. I see alot of ppl against this dam cuz of costs and geological effects but Canada coincidently and luckily has this elite card to win hearts of Greenlanders and meanwhile stretching supply lines; Canada should find one more Site-C like site in eastern hemisphere right next door to Greenland to keep this Queen's Land and EU united with Greenland. (2) Canada should call a war like council to re-review mega project allocations and divert amounts away from projects like mirroring 401 with tunnel under it and put these funds in Site-C like projects to not just increase exports but full Trump proof for decades and more .. lets call it exports on steroids tapping easy gigawatts for surplus exports (3) Also Canada/EU/UK can easily tackle trump's US threats over Greenland. UK/Canada/France/Germany can preempt trump by warning Denmark to respect and honor its membership in EU by honoring its pledge of allegiance and sovereignty else expel from EU if Denmark sold to trump. So Greenland can become EU's extension with possibly 1st citizenship rights for said EU/UK/Canadian countries. Also UK and Germany desperately need space for expansion for agriculture etc hence the warming Greenland and melting northern frozen routes will help G5 part of EU to rightfully and deservingly serve for centuries to come (4) Instead US cars import cartel rules which is mostly copy/pasted in Canada... Canada should open all brands from EU Auto makers (and Chinese EVs) but current obstacle is the models rejected at US can NOT make way to Canada too and as per 2025 there are GEMs sitting out there just because of this (excellent KZbin video "Here's Why Minivans are Actually the Best Vehicle to Buy" by US/Canada/Global favorite Scotty Kilmer May 13, 2023) ... this 2024 onwards is the era of minivans and specially 4th row minivans.... Hyundai Staria, Grand Carnival cannot be imported to Canada as US is not letting them pass certifications. soon and what a coincidence of prime of this trend a ditto same; but from US Ford Transit Prime will create an absolute monopoly chocking Canada with eny ... when said GEMs are desperate to come in a break this enviable monopoly. These cars will ignite economic activity in Canada by exciting Canadians to move despite economic hardships and movement stimulates economy. (5) Canada should start flooding Greenland shops with organics and materials to win their hearts and even it Trump backs down; he has disclosed intents of his followers .. even if he backs down and next one looks as friendly like Biden/Obama ... under covers some trump will be brewing plan 2.0 and coming more vicious with dozens of fall back plans to avoid backing off. #MagaAwaitsCanadaAgain

Palki Sharma, good report without suggesting Trump is wrong, but he is risking international growth with any/all countries that have unfair or unequal trade with America. This is business and money, not war with lives at stake. With the exception of securing the borders with Canada and Mexico, primarily for crime and drug issues, Trump's tariffs are targeted at a level trading policy with each country that wants to sell into the US. If your country has no trading barriers for America, you will not have a tariff... sounds about right and fair!

@@sandipmungala Here is a bite of reality: USA GDP $29TT, Canada GDP $2.14TT Mexico GDP $1.8 with Canada selling about 75% of its trade goods to America. Do you really think Canada would actually allow a trade war? It was much cheaper for Canada to do what it should have done all along. Canada is a good ally to the US, but has not played fair with trade barriers, obligations to NATO or fully protected your border from illegals coming to America. For the US to fix its southern border, Mexico had to see we would address issues with one of our best allies, Canada! We wish you well from here in Texas...please remember this is about money and not being an adversary.

You did not mention that Tariffs add to the income of the country, a good thing. Also, the full burden of the tariff does not always fall fully to the consumers, the affected countries will reduce their profit margins to be able to still sell their products, so the cost to the consumers do not go up parallel to the Tariff, it would be gradual. More importantly, it opens up the opportunity for other countries to compete with China that holds a big advantage, the Chinese government subsidies many local industries. It will give other countries a chance.

Just a logical question to the US/Trump: I understand that you want to end income tax for your people(which is a good thing) , however to compensate that if you start imposing heavy tariffs on every other country, won't that make your own economy crumble? Let me explain in brief: US economy relies mainly on exports of technology(products). On the other hand, you mainly import consumer goods & food products, pharmaceuticals, minerals etc. from other countries, which is a necessity you can't invoke. How do you replace that? You're pressing 20-30% tarrif, then in retaliation the other country presses even more(china has just imposed 15% & there's Mexico too). Your own people can't buy the heavily taxed products anymore, in addition you're making your own export-goods expensive. Whose loss is this? This ain't one way road bruh! How would you tackle that now? Aren't you basically making people pay more for a product in the name of tax exemption? That would cause some serious INFLATION! Just imagine if all those countries come together and fulfill their own requirements, where do you stand?!
