Let's say the FBI were allowed to investigate Kavanaugh, and let's say they found him innocent. Would that not be great for trump and the GOP? I don't agree with you that the testimony was full of holes, on the contrary, I don't believe Kavanaugh - but this is why investigations are vital. To find the truth, not conjecture. And as far as the Mueller report is concerned it was to find evidence of interference from Russia in the 2016 election, not to find trump guilty. The report has found and indicted numerous people for their involvement, and seems to say the president is not exonerated. Tell me the truth, Lawrence, if this 'scandal' was in Obama's administration I'm sure you would be calling for his impeachment. Personally I want the truth so I can move on. I get your point, but with respect the biggest problem is that we are not wanting to show that reason enough. Nobody is. It's gonna backfire in so many ways, seemingly to both parties, IMHO. I don't live in the US, I live in England but I find US politics fascinating, more so in this era. England cannot shut its government down like the US, but we have politicians who lie and cheat and make things personal. Our parliament is far more transparent than your multiple branches of government but there is still backbiting and disrespect. I do not trust politicians as a whole, and I think that the general public needs to have more say with more regularity - and that's why I think the public need to be more educated and considerate for both sides of any argument. I'm sure you must be exasperated about what's going on in the US and I am lucky not to live there. I am not affected directly but I am affected none the less, as is the rest of the world. Although I know you mean it as a joke, I think there is much to what you're saying. Bannon is a failed movie producer and Trump never really got to be what he really wanted to be--an entertainer. I think if his brother had lived and taken over the business we would have seen a lot more of Trump in New York or Hollywood. He has appeared in several movies, had his own hit television series, and even appeared on SNL a couple of times (which, I think, is the REAL reason he is so angry with SNL-- they were supposed to be LOYAL). I think Trump is a tragedy in many ways.

If he imposes tariffs on Mexico because of the “emergency” at the border, then everything authentically Mexican sold here in the US will be more expensive and scarce at the same time, causing the nation that produces it to struggle financially because of it. That’s how tariffs always go. And Trump just last year had an “Eureka” moment learning that other countries and nations can impose tariffs on the US.
