I like the fact he has so much experience on the ground with the troops. He understands the price of war and what the troops face because he's experienced it. I don't see him wasting people's lives or not knowing how to withdraw from a country if needs be. The current administration had problems with that. The obvious choice for this role traditionally is like a general or something but half the time they served their time in an air conditioned office.

Please consider writing to YOUR Senator with YOUR feelings on this AND other cabinet members, along with any other concerns. Consider also to encourage their friends in the Senate to also support the cabinet picks regardless of which side of the isle they may sit. Here in WYOMING we had a House member who was NOT properly representing the people. A few years ago that House member was crushed [aka WE FIRED her] in the primary election and we got [aka WE HIRED] Rep. Harriet Hageman, Wyoming's Congresswoman, who is a FINE EXAMPLE for how the people's representatives SHOULD act! Chip Roy and Marjorie Taylor Greene are also great examples! We have had a recruitment problem in our military. It's reaching crisis state. No one wants to go in and be part of the Trans pronoun army. Young men see Pete and say I could be that and be happy. Has a lot to do with it. Making the army more appealing to recruits.
