Trump reportedly calls Milwaukee a 'horrible city'

With just over a month to go until the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, the GOP's candidate for president is reportedly criticizing Milwaukee, though his campaign says the remarks are being taken out of context.
"Milwaukee, where we are having our convention, is a horrible city," Trump said to House Republicans Thursday, according to a report from Punchbowl News' Jake Sherman.
Trump's campaign responded early Thursday afternoon.

The entire north side and near south side has the nation's worst rundown slums that haven't been touched in decades. Milwaukee has the nation's fifth-highest homicide rate. No license plates and running red lights is the norm. It's Public School System has been audited and shown to be completely incompetent and was $200 million dollars in the red, because it is a bloated bureaucracy run by the Teachers Union, that has bought and paid every democrat leader -- including the idiotic mayor Johnson. They just passed another referendum to raise already skyhigh property taxes for their public school system. They wasted hundreds of millions of dollars on a street car system nobody uses, and need to throw another $353 million at it. But don't hold your breath hearing any of this from this WOKE TMJ4 News. They are wholly committed to lying and propaganda for the city's democrats.

The North Side of Milwaukee and Near South Side look like Beverly Hills compared to inner-city neighborhoods of Philly and Baltimore and well... most "hoods" of the East Coast. And in the Midwest... Detroit, Cleveland, St. Louis their "hoods" while having similar architecture and city planning styles to Milwaukee, are much more rundown than Milwaukee.

I would argue that most of the North Side and most of the Near South Side are NOT slums but attractive to semi-attractive, densely packed, urban housing be they Polish Flats or the architectural style known as the "Milwaukee Bungalow." That said... yes there are vast swaths of the North Side, and some large portions of the Near South Side dilapidated. Property taxes pay for public schools, police, fire departments, road work, garbage pick up, park maintenance, pensions of all the people retiring from those jobs and wages of all those replacing them. I'm part of Generation X. When the Baby Boomers worked in Milwaukee's factories they made back in the 1960s and 1970s wages, off of 1 spouse working full time, the equivalent in buying power today, in some cases (not all) between $100,000 to $200,000 per year. In relative buying power I'm saying, not that they made those amounts. The purchasing power of the dollar has been plummetting. But decades ago US politicians and corporation executives decided to offshore manufacturing jobs to China, Vietnam, Indonesia etc. Mexico builds more automobiles than Detroit does now. When a tax base in a city falls the city brings in less tax revenue to fund infrastructure, police, fire departments, public schools. Neither the Democratic Party nor Republican Party offer practical resolutions to these problem, in part because both parties benefit from the declining lives of more and more Americans. For example, scarcity + demand = rise in price. A basic timeless truism. Now apply that principle to too little housing + FLOODING the country with immigrants. It causes housing prices and rent prices to skyrocket. Those who own real estate $$$ benefit. Politicians respond to their donors and not to voters. You can also stop giving American taxpayer welfare to Israel, Ukraine, and countless other countries like security welfare for Germany and South Korea via our military and instead reinvest that money into training Americans for x, y, z skilled jobs. In Israel public university for citizens of Israel is nearly free, they have universal health care, in Mexico European automakers TRAIN Mexicans with NO SKILLS to work in the European high tech, robotic, auto making factories.

As a life long Milwaukee resident, it truly has become a horrible city. There used to be bad areas that you avoided, but now the whole city has become unsafe. Liberal DA's overturn sentences, and the thugs are back on the streets with a slap on the wrist. I dread driving anywhere in the city now. Every road has become a racetrack and not a cop to be seen. Great city in some ways, but the violence and reckless driving plus auto theft with high speed chases fleeing cops is yes, damn horrible. I reside on the black North Side. There are some major problems. Under Biden and Russia being the most sanctioned country in the history of mankind, the Russian economy has grown to become the 4th largest on Earth. Biden and the Dems and Reps have managed to "Make Russia Great Again." We are edging towards nuclear war (a certain class of Russian nuke will wipe out 3/4th the State of New York, and the entire city of Milwaukee with all its little children, a city you insinuate you love). And under Biden as of the 9th of this month MBS of Saudi Arabia has stated Saudi Arabia will not renew the Petro Dollar 💵 agreement which was first established between the 2 countries under President Nixon in the year of my birth. That agreement is what keeps the US dollar, in demand globally and the USA from becoming hyper-inflated like oh... say... Argentina. But I'm happy to see your priorities are in order. 🙄
