Believe me when I say that my instructors and trainers did not make it easy because I was a woman. I was a member of the skating club of Boston for years back during the Kerrigan, Wylie era and that community with the rest of skating community is so close. My cousins were Canadian skaters and Olympians and we were even all close with them and skaters from all countries and this is not the way the leader of any country should act to console the nation. My heart breaks for my former club and all skaters and ppl who lost family and friends. I truly know that pain as we lost 2 dear friends on Flight 11 a flight my husband took often and was booked on on that day until he got into grad school. Pres. Bush, the NY and Mass Senators all acted appropriately in consoling the nation on one of our darkest days in history. They were not members of the same party, but that did not matter as they needed to offer support as they consoled family and the nation. Every tragedy no matter how big or small to a nation is massive to families and communities suffering the loss. I wish we had someone at the helm that understood that and cared about something other than themselves.
