Many students were happy about this statement but you should keep in mind that, there will be certain conditions that will apply. Kids born in United States 🇺🇸 for illegal immigrants, no longer get citizenship. - H-1B Denials - During Trump’s previous term, H-1B denials increased from 6% ( Obama’s tenure) to above 20% until 2019. Later Biden’s takeover they eased the policies and corrected it to 2.2%. Expecting the same in the current tenure because Trump wants all the cream to stay back. - Strict Regulations For Students: During Trump’s previous tenure, borders were very tight. Unless you are coming to good university, your visa will not get approved. Few hundreds of students got deported from US airports for various reasons. Students entered into US during 2016 to 2019 is significantly lower than last 4 years. This might repeat again. - Stop work permit for spouses of H-1B workers: There was a proposal which never passed in previous tenure might come into light again. Let’s be prepared for it. - Buy American Hire American: This is Trump’s slogan in his last tenure. He proposed wages of H1-B holders to be 60-100% higher than American citizens to control foreign workers. This policy will cost a ton of money to employers, which will directly benefit local talent. Expecting this policy to be implemented to protect American jobs. You missed a lot of important points: - Their proposal for birth right citizenship is for citizens and GCs only. Legal or illegal immigrant’s kids won’t get citizenship. Most importantly changing that rule is almost impossible no matter who is president. - H4 EAD will go. Stephen miller will also first remove premium processing for H1 and H4, also remove combined processing of H1/H4/H4 EAD. Actual removal of H4 EAD will probably take 2-3 years. - Client letters will probably not asked but other RFEs especially wage levels and specialist occupation will go up even more this time. They can easily dig up multiple applications of people who were doing it to get picked in lottery and create issues there. - STEM OPT also will be challenged. But it’s not guaranteed like H4 EAD. - Stephen miller likes to inflict pain. He will probably also reduce visa slots so you can’t go to home country due to stamping issues. These are my analysis from being here for last decade+ and knowing these creatures and their mentality from last term.

@@SamKoppa very good question. lot of people are thinking the same. the reason for court to stop trump administration is for “not following due process”, not because courts can just stop president. Due process luckily takes around 2-3 years.

@@SreeAn as far as I know courts have authority to stop presidential orders too based on certain grounds unless the country is under a king. I mean not just this but in general. Anyways it’s a wait and watch game..

@@SamKoppaTrue, courts use laws and constitution etc as their basis for stopping a president. But if they change the law, courts can’t do anything but follow it. Since republicans now own both houses, it’s easy to pass laws. Also, most other things like removing premium processing or removing 60 days grace period for H1B can be done without any discussion, as change of procedure. They aren’t laws.
