Trump's Wrecking Ball is Affecting Global Relations; These Effects Are Changing the Liberal World Order (Keeping the World Company). The hosts for this show were Jay Fidell and Tim Apicella. The guests were Jean Rosenfeld and Manfred Henningsen.
The discussion was: Domestically, Trump has unlawfully disrupted, corrupted, undermined and threatened nearly every federal agency and has effectively brought the federal government to its knees. Trump is doing this largely through Elon Musk, who is neither elected nor confirmed, along with other unconfirmed acting heads who have somehow mysteriously surfaced.


Federal employees of these agencies have been shut out of their jobs and offices, and democratic members of congress who have tried to enter the premises have likewise been shut out. A number of suits have been filed against the Trump administration attempting to reverse the resulting damage, chaos and confusion.

In the meantime, the wrecking ball is affecting American diplomatic relations overseas. Trump has unlawfully shut down USAID, creating still more chaos and deprivation for the countries and the millions of people who depend on aid, food and humanitarian care from the US.
This, as so many other things Trump is doing to punish our long term allies and friends, has profoundly disappointed and damaged our relations with them, and has allowed Russia and China to come in and replace us. This damage is already long term, and it is not clear how it can be reversed, if at all. Our reputation has been dashed overnight.

The takeaway was: Trump's use of the media and his search for media attention is.not only domestic. Now in his second term he has expanded it to global proportions, and we need to follow the global effects of what he is doing so we can better understand his motivations.
