Aren't there already "qualified" people doing this job daily? ASAC was a committee that did NOTHING for years! Two reasons for this; 1) If the ATC's on duty had done their job correctly, and called off the heli, there would have been NO crash! Or 2) The heli pilot simply either screwed up, or did not receive the proper messages (which is looking to be the case). Try thinking instead of blaming! It has already been confirmed that the plane was on one freq, and the heli was on another, as they should be, but the ATC, who was working BOTH did not see the heli reply bc he was not looking in the right place!

The audio has been released and multiple times the helicopter pilot stated he had VISUAL of the flight coming in. Some REAL EXPERTS in aviation have speculated the pilot had the plane following in approach, sighted a mile out, not the plane directly next to them, they assumed the wrong sight visual. Like when you pull out of a side street but failed to see the car in front of you, but only the car a few feet further back.

The problem is a military base with helicopters the other side of the river from a busy civilian airport There are separate towers operating on separate frequencies at each location so, until the military aircraft are just about to enter civilian controlled airspace neither civilian ATC nor civilian aircraft are aware of the military aircraft. The presence of a prohibited area above the military base also forces civilian aircraft to follow a highly unusual and complex flight path. I am surprised that US Blackhawks lack CVRs and CFRs as other countries do incorporate these units into military aircraft.

He said what the issue is, and that he’s going to fix it so it doesn’t happen again. What’s the problem? Air traffic control tower should have done more. “Hey helicopter, do you see that plane?” Where is the warning?? How about “hey helicopter, you’re in the flight path of a landing passenger plane, change altitude or course now!” And the helicopter pilot should’ve been more aware of his surroundings being that low, and flying around an airport. If you have a problem with what was just said you need your head examined and that’s why he said we need intelligent people running important jobs like that. I’m not biased in the slightest, someone screwed up and I’m glad someone came out and said that they’re going to fix the issues caused by someone else to make sure it won’t happen again. The problem is he doesn't have a clue what the issue is because the cause of the accident is still to be investigated. What he has done is pressure the accident investigation into finding evidence to support his preferred finding even if his preferred finding is totally wrong. You are even jumping to conclusions about which you have no technical knowledge which is blatantly obvious from your suggestions for ATC transmissions. ATC did instruct the helicopter, using the approved aviation radio language, to visually avoid and pass behind the landing aircraft. The helicopter acknowledged that instruction again using the international standard aviation radio language. Trump needs to get out of the way of the investigation and let the NTSB and DoD investigation team do their work.
