This was very informative! I really have a lot more understanding about our election process because of this episode. That is so important for the general population because most of us don’t have this information or knowledge and this information about campaign contributions and how that money is used. Also about influences on politicians from lobbyists and others and how McCarthy selected different committees and about the election and so on. I think there should really be a required course that people, the general public who are going to be eligible to vote in our elections, should have to go through so that everyone can be given updated information about campaign and election processes and rules especially ones that have been changed. I think that would be a way for many more people to understand the whole election process and about voting and contributing to campaigns and how committees are selected and what the speakers of the house and the senate responsibilities are as well as the influence they have and so much more. I really wish I’d had so much more of this information and knowledge a long long time ago. I vaguely remember learning a little bit about our political process in junior high in 8th or 9th grade but nothing after that. And there’s been a lot of changes since I graduated high school in 1979. I think it would have eliminated some of the corruption of our political system. 1:30-1:33 minutes don’t miss what McCarthy tells PBD. We need to unite as a country. Just because we are of different views and opinions and political parties we don’t have to be enemies. We should be able to discuss our opinions and ask questions of each other and listen to each other. Most people don’t disagree on most issues and in fact the majority of the people are more aligned than not. We are all Americans and we all want America to be great however there are a few who are managing to divide the majority and put us against each other. We need to be united and not divided.

McCarthy misunderstands Putin deeply. In 1990's, after the fall of Soviet Union, Russia was for sale, being torn apart by foreigners, who like vultures swooped in and took advantage of lack of leadership, buying up Russia's natural resouces, land etc, while Russians struggled and groaned under horrible economy and instability. I was a teenager when all of this was taking place. Putin came to power and tried to reform the system, but it was so far gone, and infiltrated by foreign powers, intelligence operatives and the like, he could do little else but to take control of the whole thing and start eliminating parts of the system to remove all of these rotten parts. He is not perfect, neither is he a democratic leader, according to historic American standard of democracy. Yet, Russia has prospered under Putin. Crime is all but gone. People are making money. Businesses are thriving, even amidst sanctions. As for Ukraine and Georgia--lots of Russians live in both places, and Putin takes it seriously. Whenever there is an ethnic cleansing of Russians, or threat to Russian population via biolabs or NATO expansion, he reacts with military action. We would do the same if Mexican cartels began to systematically murder Americans living in Mexico, or if Cuba decided to stage nukes pointing at DC--again.
