Donald Trump sparked backlash during a recent visit to Detroit, where he controversially likened the city to a "developing nation." Speaking at the Detroit Economic Club on Thursday, Oct 10, Trump claimed that China had "abused" its status as a developing nation and provocatively added, "We're a developing nation, too. Just take a look at Detroit." He went on to describe the city as a "developing area... a hell of a lot more than most places in China," warning that if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the election, the entire country could "end up being like Detroit," resulting in a "mess on your hands."
