My elderly mother died because a sibling with which she lived turned anti-vaccine under the influence of the orange one, and Mom got Omicron and perished. As an American evangelical, this particular sibling is utterly enjoying the ride with the great dictator; I was raised one, and I have one other sibling who is an evangelical and does not like the rogue former president, but I quit the church at an early age and I've witnessed the eventual self-destruction of the evangelicals and of a very large segment of American society. The society, with the exception of the late 1850s to early 1860s, has never seen anything quite like this. The cancer is real and is set to destroy the Republic barring the success in keeping the would-be dictator off the ballot, and even then there is a lot of work to be done to deal with a society that has a fascistic 30-40% portion of the population.

I just had the opportunity to watch a podcast headed up by Richard Steele. His guests were Glenn Kirschner, Ellie Mistall ( sorry if I spelled that wrong Ellie) and Tom Nichols. An unbelievably cogent, straightforward, pertinent conversation! I'm glad I caught it because, for the last few weeks, I've been thinking I'm alone on a fkng sanity Island! I now feel like I've been rescued and there's still hope of seeing my homeland once again. Normalcy still exists. Common sense, coherent thinking, reality based analysis has not succumbed. The judges serve during "good behavior." How is that not an ethical and moral code? "Lifetime tenure" is nowhere in the text, history, or tradition. Additionally, the Supreme Court is NOT the 3rd branch of government. The entire federal judiciary is. So, a supreme court judge is bound by the same ethical rules every other federal judge is bound to.
