Working in a Canadian grocery store over the last week has been an eye opener. I'm a Customs Broker here in the US. Let me tell you how much drama this "maybe we will, maybe we won't" tariff policy causes. Every time he changes his mind, both CBP and we service providers have to patch systems that prepare customs entry documentation. These regular changes to policy cause nightmares from a planning and process perspective. This is going to be a long azz 4 years.

Most of our refineries were built before the shale oil boom. As a result, they were designed to process heavier crude oil than what we have, so we import cheaper, heavier crude oil from Canada to feed our refineries. It’s more economically sensible.

Once you’re done with that, notice that our unemployment rate is very low at 4.1%, and we target around that percentage to maintain a functioning labor market. Now, think about the impact of Trump’s plan to deport them. Finally, realize that 93% of our potash fertilizer is imported from Canada. I’m sure it’ll be fine though.
