How can anyone with any sense of decency vote for a man for whom truth doesn’t exist, a man who stokes hatred and division among us, a man who’s inability to accept his overwhelming defeat threatens the very foundations of our democracy? I’m not sure if you speak to people from around the world, but I do - they’re scared and confused about what’s going on in our country. They once looked to us for strength and guidance, and held us in great esteem as the standard bearer of democracy and freedom - we lost that and we can never get it back. I’ve been shocked by people’s ability to ignore or shrug off Trump’s deliberate attempts to subvert our institutions and tear them down - January 6th is a stain on our nation that we can’t just shrug off as Trump being Trump - he stoked a violent insurrection at our Capitol on the basis of a lie, a lie that he’s still very much peddling to his base and anyone else who can still stomach the sound of his voice. At what point do those people draw the line? We’re not sworn enemies here - we’re friends and family and neighbors and coworkers and colleagues and fellow countrymen. We all want safety and prosperity and good health, but the way this guy has ramped up the rhetoric has people at each other’s throats over some really petty differences - we are ALL Americans and we have to end this insanity and make this country work again, because right now we’re a mess. We’ve got a legislative branch that can’t work together to pass ANYTHING and resembles a meeting of the Hatfields and McCoys more than an elected body of lawmakers with differing policy. We’re watching our country unravel at the seams since Trump’s brand of politics has come on the scene and it needs to stop. Everyone, regardless of who you support, get out and vote, and let’s see where the chips fall - if what I believe about the American people is true, we will once again soundly reject Trump and what he stands for.
