Lowering the exchange rates of the dollars is the only way to bring manufacturing back to the US. Tariffs are not going to help. The thing is that all big industries are global players. They won't be affected by Trumps tariff because they already have a presence in the US. For example BMW (German auto-maker) builds some of its SUVs in Spartanburg in South Carolina. Microsoft (US software maker) sits also in Munich, Bavaria an employs 2000 people there. The smaller player know that Trump would repeat his tariff stuff when he was elected again and immediately build up big stockpiles of their products in the US in preparation. You can't tariff what is already there. They will make a killing as all companies in the US will soon raise prices and blame the tariffs for it. Even companies that don't suffer too much from them. Oh FFS! The American people pay the tariffs! Not the foreign businesses. Tariffs hurt foreign businesses by making their products more expensive in the US because the importer has to pay for the product and then also pay the tariff to the government. That business then has to sell that product for a higher price to US consumers to make a profit. If there isn't a US alternative, the price simply goes up for Americans and it doesn't hurt the foreign business at all.

If Europe and other countries like Canada, mexico etc… is pushed to far like they’re about to be, they will just cut trading all together, the US is built on trading its how it sustains itself and if that’s gone…. @ Like business or other? I would do both depending on what they are specifically. I did buy the NFTs and flip them for 2.5x what I paid within 48 hours. Missed the crypto, but heard it jumped big. Was too busy with work to notice. Usually I personally like to invest with geopolitical knowledge. Like once Russia had 80,000 troops on Ukraine's border and knowing they were considered a bread basket of the USSR at a point. I invested in grain. When semi conductor funding was announced by the DNC I decided to invest in Nvidia also knowing about the new GPUs. Got a bit lucky with that also not knowing about the double sided circuit boards they were making at the same time as the other 2 and was able to x5 off that one in still under a year.
