You realize that there is no such thing as an unplanned golf day for someone under Secret Service protection. It is announced in advanced to the community to expect traffic disruptions because it is a huge headache. It also makes huge inconvenience for other golfers who can't get access while Trump is there. Trump does do some dumb things, but the Secret Service had already started preparing the area a day in advance. Everybody knows when Trump is playing golf.

As others have already pointed out, the USSS already has all of the personnel they need. Roughly half of their staff are currently working on financial crimes that the FBI and other agencies can do. Many of those people can be reassigned to protective detail teams and support roles for the teams. It would not surprise me in the least if our government is actually purposely providing opportunities for someone to take out Trump. I think there are people in our government that would take direct action if they thought they could get away with it without a major uprising.
