Fantastic trumpet. The organist changed the tempo when it was only organ. Suddenly rushing. Tempo with trumpet is beautifully dignified ; the quality of sound is gorgeous.

@@dtsummers330 I am a classical vocalist, and I would be proud to work with you as an organist/Director of Music. When you do this for a living as a professional, you need to be able to adjust pieces to fit not only the mood, but the NEED. Excellent musicians understand this. Virtuosity can be wonderful, but you are there to fit the setting, not just your own vanity. No one cares how fast you can play just like no one cares how fast I can sing: They only care if we made their wedding, funeral, what-have-you appropriate and special for them. I thought you (and the Trumpeter) did an amazing job!

Yes, the “Abblasen” is a trumpet fanfare attributed to Gottfried Reiche, who played for J. S. Bach. That was well done, wasn’t it? But agreed, the Voluntary is a march. If they dragged the tempo any more, maybe it should be re-named the Involuntary Funeral Dirge. ;)
